I have waited so long for a new pyro. And yes, blob needs to happen.

Or Toad. Came in the first ever series of Marvel Legends from ToyBiz and even then that was never a proper version. It had a cool sculpt but the thing was a statue. Mortimer could use better representation in figure form so hopefully Hasbro hops to it.

Toad is my "least" wanted X-men related villain ever. Seriously, what is the fascination with this extremely lame character. The movie portrayal of him by Darth Maul was even more putrid. I'd rather Hasbro had skipped on the alternate "smirk" head sculpt & given us actual flame thrower fire spewing effects & 2 alternate open//splayed hands effects. Could care less for that version of Rogue. JL version is all I need of her. With mystique & now Pyro made, Blob, Avalanche & Destiny should be popping up in 21'.Gimme a 1st app classic Sabretooth any day over a Toad.

Personally, I want Hasbro versions of all the Pryde of the X-men lineup. We're pretty damn close, too. Technically only need Toad and Kitty Pryde. (Although a new Blob would be great as I hate the look of the existing Hasbro version). Toad's portrayal in the X-Men movie sucked. No doubt. But he's such a classic X-villain. I think that's why so many people want him.

Honestly, I don't know what the big deal is about Toad either, but I'm sure he's done something good in the comics. The only thing I know him from is the X-Me Evolution cartoon and first movie as he doesn't appear in any of the Claremont stuff I have read. I'd rather have Mesmero first since he had a highly enjoyable arc. Same goes for Arcade.

Toad never amounts to much in the comics, either. Usually a henchman or team member. I have a collection of 40 years of x-comics and don’t recall him ever doing anything truly memorable or impactful.

For me, the Ray Park performance was the pinnacle of Toad’s existence. That doesn’t say much for the character.

It's a tough thing to understand. But for one thing a lot of people want to him because he completes their teams. It's like wanting Snarf in a thundercats lineup. He sucks but there's always that itch you get from not having a complete team. The omission is disturbing. And believe it or not his lameness also makes him even more appealing to have as an action figure. There's a sheer novelty to it and the ridiculousness of the character only improves the fun factor. Like for example the Batroc figure from 2015. He's on the Bucky Cap body and the only new piece is his head. He's such a vanilla figure but he fits perfectly into so many situations and displays, and he's a member of the Masters of Evil so another plus. The dorks round out the uber badassery of everyone else. You definitely have no love for the character and that's fine but some people really want to have their Brotherhood of Mutants complete. There's more to it but that's part of it I think. Also I don't think more villains is a bad thing.

Oh crap. Mesmero. That guy is so weird looking I'd want them to make a figure just so I could see what he looks like translated to 3d.

I basically agree with everything you said. Toad sucks, Toad sucked even more in the movie (no offence to the great Ray Park), and Pyro needs flame-spewing effects. Fire fists alone don't cut it.

Going to have to respectfully disagree. The old BAF Blob still hold up well and is one of my favorite BAF... but they should re-release it as a single card for the people new to the line.

IIRC, Toad was originally a part of a line of two-packs featuring X-Men movie characters and their comic counterparts, but the line got cancelled and the Toad comic figure was folded over into Marvel Legends.

Toad was in the Brotherhood of Mutants in the 90ties X-men animated series. A lot of us, myself included, grew up on the animated series and it is our version of X-men.

N...no, no he wasn't. He was in the "Pryde of the X-Men" pilot for the first attempt at a series, but that never got off the ground. His only appearance in the 90s series was as a henchman character for Solarr in the episode "Secrets, Not Long Buried".

And alla ya people crapping on Toad, go find a new hobby. We get it, you don't like him, move on. Some of us do.

I'm one for the original Brotherhood as well as the version that debuted in the 80's so Ima Toad fan. He has done nothing really but snivel and bemoan his existence but he and Mastermind were original members...so I want him. And yes I want Mesmero as well! His arc in uncanny taking the X-men hostage and making them carnival folk was awesome! The more mutants the Merrier!

    Next!!

I actually thought the same thing until years back when I rewatched the 90's X-Men again and realized that somehow despite remembering him being around Toad only appeared once. Kind of weird, but Toad did disappear in the comics for a time and only started reappearing after the movies and X-Men Evolution made him popular again.

But I don't get the crapping on him, either. He's one of the original X-Men villains and needed just as much as we need a new Avalanche and Blob, same as we need regular old Mastermind as much as the Hellfire Club version because our Brotherhood of Evil set-ups are incomplete without him.

Even though the 20th anniversary is itself the movie's it's evident Hasbro is just taking an opportunity to celebrate the X-men as a franchise, comics included. The Nimrod set, Old Man Logan pack, and Storm/Thunderbird pack also use this unique packaging.

I am honestly surprised that Hasbro does not re issue Blob with maybe a new head and paint upgrades in the 30$ deluxe line. Seems like a no brainer.

I myself want a 2 pack with classic Mystique ( re issue of the walgreens one with her original dark grey skin with an alternate couple heads) and a Destiny figure with unmasked head. If you really want to go for gold add in a classic early Rogue ( in black and green) and make it a 3 pack!!! That would give you 2 known X characters ( for the public) and anyone who knows the Mystique/ Rogue history would want the Destiny to go with them since she is important to both of them. And ... More Freedom Force

That really just leaves someone to be packed with a new Avalanche figure like Rogue /Pyro. So what A lister x men character should go toe to toe with Avalanche???

Pryde of the X-Men (didn't know the name) was my intro to a lot of characters as we had it on VHS and could watch it over and over. The animated series was too but that was just whenever I could watch on TV. There was also another movie where Jubilee joined and the Sentinels first appeared. Those 2 "movies" had the biggest impact for me.

    I like Toad.

Also Rogue. Rouge is the color or term for lipstick.

Avalanche should be packed with a reissue of Cyclops from the Byrne era.
