Playmates is still pushing these figures, huh? I actually liked them when they first came out several years ago. Good articulation, right down the individual fingers and toes.

The sculpts were always pretty decent. They needed a lot better paint though. Wonder if they are jumping back into the TMNT collector market, or if these are one offs.

Cool, but the last time I bought Mirage comic inspired figures from Playmates I ended up returning them to the store a week later due to how badly they sucked.

These things are $25 each and come with little to nothing in accessories. Why not have them include effects and stuff? Plus, knowing Playmates, they'll have worse quality control than a bootleg.

Still, I'll remain curious provided they follow the turtles up with Shredder, April, Baxter, and Kirai.

The figures i bought from the 2 sets developed that white residue , i forget what that liquid is called to fix it but it really didnt matter it happened again.

I assume they've seen the popularity of NECA's turtles and want another chance at that market, they should do what WB did with NECA and their DC figures and buy NECA's molds so they can crank out waaaay more NECA turtles (I'm sure there's a lot of logistic problems there though) haha

Seriously? I was considering getting them, but that sounds terrible! Definitely going to pass then.

There are about a dozen diffent KO's of the NECA Mirage TMNT. I'm sure Playmates could find one of them, buy their molds, and make it as an official product.

I'm all for Playmates making more classic-style TMNT, ESPECIALLY Mirage comics style, but these are way too cartoony. Mirage Comics fans want squat bodies, tails, and triangular mouths.

I deadass thought these were just more articulated versions of the old Mutatin' figures at first glance.

I have no real need for these, but it’s nice that if I want, I can go pre-order these and actually own them. Playmates missed the boat on nostalgia. They could have done so much, but put everything into that failure of tv show.

Wow, apologies. I didn’t know anyone liked that show. I assumed that’s why it’s been cancelled and the toys are wiped clear from all planograms.

As they say opinions are like.......holes. Everyone has one and thinks their’s is the only one that doesn’t stink.

Yeah the prior TMNT had toys on shelves for YEARS, and tons to ancillary merch. This newest version came and went so fast I thought it was my deadbeat dad And something can be underrated AND a failure, but from what I saw of the newest show... I think underrated may be too generous...

Ever since they cancelled the shredder and krang a few years back I felt insulted as they claimed if the turtles sold well, they would do Shredder and Krang.

I am 95% sure they sold well....

I wish Playmates would decide on something and do it. Releasing more stuff that people have not bought like three times already from the vintage line would be nice. If they lost the molds do a Kickstarter. I have a feeling its a bad company like Mattel. These don't look that good, all the joints showing, just looks bad and offsetting. I know some have to show, but this is way way too much and kinda lazy. What else does Playmates have to offer?

Can ask a question? What is your avatar? I’m racking my brain. Lol.

These look neither Mirage nor "Elite" to me.

I hope NECA gets another chance at doing the Mirage Turtles, their old ones still look awesome.

The NECA and Super7 releases are far superior. I guess Playmates is content in re-releasing and repainting older figures.

By "these", I mean the unreleased Playmates figures from 2009.

Google- Playmates' unreleased Mirage action figure line - to see the ones I mean.

Nice paint job! Shame we won’t get anything like that this time around

Honestly people also underrated how much fatigue TMNT has surrounding it's media. There was a lot of it throughout the past decade, perhaps too much of it, and it long since started and has been fading away recently. Hopefully they give it a couple years before attempting a relaunch with a new cartoon or movie and just let the vintage fans take the franchise around for a spin for a little while to keep it warm.

I know it's not a popular opinion, but like I think Mattel and Hasbro have shown it's wise of Playmates to not double down on a vintage line. Best to let NECA and Super7 take the risks with similar investments if their own rather than use up your own time and resources on a gamble.

Do you think collectors would want a NECA or Super7 version of Scrath or Tyranny Shredder over a Playmates version? I don't know myself. I think I would want both, but at the end of the day I would pick the NECA or Super7 version, because of better sculpt and articulation and its the same character.

Err.. aren't these repaints of the classic collection set from 2012? That's just lazy. I love my turtles, but come on..

Giving all 4 turtles the same green skintone and red masks does NOT qualify them as "Mirage Studios" style turtles. These just look like repaints of the cartoony style turtles Playmates keeps churning out again and again. Easy pass for me. I'll stick with the far superior NECA versions.
