Great, more previews for "upcoming" figures to go with the others that have been shown off and never been released.

I'll say this: Those Obi-Wan and Anakin figures may be headed for purgatory but not releasing that classic Spider-Man would be a colossal failure.

You're kidding if you don't think they'll release that Obi-Wan and Anakin. The RotS versions go for hundreds over MSRP now. Spider-Man will also definitely be released.

I'm a bit surprised these were their first teases, since they're all very much wanted, but also pretty expected. So maybe that's why they showed these figures now.

What does secondary market value have to do with what figures HT chooses to make? I'll tell you, nothing. They have a Bespin Luke still "coming soon". They've shown off IW Scarlet Witch, they've shown off IW Drax, there might have been an IW Falcon out there too. The previous versions of those figures go for the same values as Episode III Anakin yet the newer versions were never released.

On top of that HT Would rather release translucent Mark IV as opposed to Padme, Jango Fett, C-3PO and Cyborg. So no, I'm not kidding. I also said "maybe" so if the preorders go up please don't come back with "I told you so." Anyone actually paying attention to HT over the years knows a teaser or a prototype means absolutely nothing until the preorder goes up.

If secondary market value had nothing to do with what they're choosing lately, they wouldn't have re-released the Iron Man Mk 47. The Holographic Mark IV is an exclusive, not general release. They've done an Iron Man variant the last several years for those, so that's not surprising and definitely not taking up room from Padme, Jango, 3PO and Cyborg.

The first 3 should be general releases and not exclusives. Howard Chan said in an interview that they're not making Cyborg, so just forget that one totally.

Baby Yoda got a large wall for himself with a custom background lol. It’s like he is the main attraction.

I am only interested in the Ventress statue of theirs and it looks quiet good.

The Spidey looks like a beaut. Sadly, the tights will get in the way for any classic McFarlane or Bagley-style Spidey poses. Only reason I never bought any of the several other 1:6 Spideys.

I didn't watch the booth tour, but is that ~1/12th Scarlet Spider in the neutral pose a statue?

They're probably looking at the secondary market, seeing the prices that are being charged and sales being closed and concluding that there is still demand for that figure, hence the re-release...

This comment makes no sense and comes off as desperate to get the last word in. You brought up one re-released figure and completely ignored the ones I mentioned. I have no idea why Mark 47 was re-released other than HT's fascination with Iron Man figures. Mark 43 was most likely re-released to coincide with the Hulkbuster re-release.

Bespin Luke is the perfect example of what you're talking about and you completely ignored it, probably because you know it completely wrecks your argument. That's been going for over double it's MSRP for years yet the prototype they showed off last year has not been put into production. The truth is if HT re-released every figure that goes for double on the secondary market the delays would be longer than they already are, not to mention the fact that they receive no money off of random eBayers downsizing their collection, questioning why they care in the first place.

The translucent Mark IV was brought up as an example of the absurd lengths HT goes to sell anything Iron Man-related as opposed to making unique figures that put them on the map. Should I have brought up the stealth versions? The Neon ones? The seemingly endless redo's in diecast of the original suits? Pointing out that translucent Mark IV is exclusive is just semantics that has nothing to do with what I said.

And I'm well aware that Cyborg is not coming out. The question is why. Again, semantics that have nothing to do with what I said.

Re-release of what? I don't know if you know this (dukefett failed to mention it, surely it just slipped his mind) but those CW Anakin and Obi-Wan figures aren't re-releases. They're new versions of characters already released, not straight-up re-releases. And honestly, if I didn't already own Episode III Obi-Wan and Anakin I'd drop the money on them right now because those don't look that great.

If Hot Toys was really looking at the secondary market you would see re-releases of Bespin Luke, Mark 46, '89 Batman, '89 Joker, Bane, Joker 2.0, TDKR Batman, AOU Hulk, Gladiator Hulk, Hela, I could go on all day.

There are dozens of HT figures going for double their MSRP on the secondary market right now that HT are never revisiting again, therefore this argument regarding the secondary market makes no sense.

And again, I never said they WOULDN'T release them, I just said I'll wait until the preorder goes up to believe it. Fun fact that you're not gonna hear from dukefett: None of the prototypes currently listed on Sideshow's Web Site as "coming soon" were shown off at the preview booth today. Maybe there are special circumstances as to why but history-that being HT's long history of showing off prototypes and not issuing them for preorder-says otherwise.

I didn't need to address the rest of your comments. And if your answer to 'Why are they re-releasing the Mark 47?' is 'I don't know' then there's no use discussing anything with you, so no need to address any of your other comments.
