X-Men Movie Marvel Legends Pre-Orders, Photos, and Details

Pretty good likenesses for facesculpts of the original trilogy X-men actors, especially for ML. Cannot say the same for the new version headsculpts of McAvoy and Fassbender which is a bit of a shame. I mean the feral alternative head for Logan looks more McAvoy than Jackman. Guess they did not make any head improvements from the prototypes shown earlier from NYTF?
I guess this line is kickstarting a $25 MSRP? Glad they're finally doing them but it was still bullshit Disney pushing over Hasbro and not letting them do them for years.
Which Mystique is that supposed to be? Rebecca Romijn or Jennifer Lawrence?
How is it bullshit? I assume that the toy rights were with Fox up until now. Or am I wrong?
With the merchandising rights, it was a fuster cluck of cross ownership between the studio and Marvel. That's why you got comics versions instead of movie characters when Disney bought Marvel and Fox and Sony made movies. Disney didn't want to pay Fox or Sony for access to the movie versions of the characters for Hasbro. It was a legal knot almost as crazy as that which tangled up The Hobbit.
No mention yet of the new pinless joints on Mags...
Whole lotta meh for these.
Patrick Stewart looks more like Dame Edna imho

Look at Deadpool; since the movie Hasbro has made tons of Deadpools, but not a single one was based on the movie. Literally the Hot Toys was the only thing made and I'm still surprised they were somehow allowed to. With all these X-Men movies being made over the years, it's insanity they didn't make anything.
I don't think they were gunning for a Fassbender likeness there. More of a "generic realistic-looking young Magneto" look. But McAvoy is pretty spot on, so... not sure what's going on there.
Mystique is definitely not Lawrence, but probably not Romijn either. Also kind of generic.
Kind of digging the proportions on that Mystique though. Never a fan of any of the movie Mystiques, but that new buck has some good body proportions and musculature (as opposed to the either overly-defined musculature or in the other extreme, amorphous blob we usually get with female bucks). And FINALLY!!! Thighs longer than lower legs! As a realistic person should be!
And let's face it. Everyone's picking up that Jackman. It's perfect.
Wolverine, PX and Magneto look FANTASTIC. An automatic pre-order!
I dunno- they’re all pretty underwhelming. Prof X’s wheelchair is generic af so that’s not cutting the mustard, I’m only interested in the McKelen Magneto outfit, mystique ain’t all bad but that face is very brow-heavy and Wolverine just doesn’t excite me. I think I only want the X-men in either the black Leather suits or in their DOFP outfits.

Yeah I thought I would be down for these, but they're a pass for me.
Magnetos body doesn't quite fit any of his head sculpts.
That said, I really wish she came with an additional trigger & gripping hand, instead of the transitioning human arm. Effect pieces like that never really work right for action figures, and I don't really see myself using it to be honest.
Wolverine looks great... and I am surprised at how much I like movie Magneto even though I never liked his armored look in any of the movies.
Well I did say the heads were good for Marvel Legends standards, they've done a bit better on few and worse on a bit more. I seriously doubt we would get imports (SHF or Mafex) to make these so that plays a part to giving them a "good."
I have a feeling that much like the trend this will be another instance for Disney/Hasbro to understand that the "older" IPs would sell better than the more modern. Just shows the lack of confidence mixing both movie versions into one set for Professor and Magneto, you know they would have gladly made 4 figures instead of this a 2 pack with different heads.
Definitely skewed more Romijn than Lawrence, and just like someone else said, digging the new? female body sculpt (could be wrong just some detail changes), would like to see more of this on future ML female figures.

When BANDAI does that in Dragon Ball Dragon Stars, people just say they are milking the fans with the same figure and just changing the hair.
Offer more accessories is actually to think in the fans, not milking them. It is also very smart, considering there are 2 versions of Magneto and PX, just put several heads and hands. They are also considering heads with and without helmet for both Magnetos instead of offering 4 Magnetos and ask $25 each, you could find the 4 heads in the box.
Cool. It would have been nice for them to include a Jennifer Lawrence version head of Mystique too since they did that for Prof and Mags.

These look fine. Hasbros photoreal promo pictures are notoriously inaccurate so I'm not too worried about the less than stellar images.
