Square Enix is bringing back their Marvel Universe Variant line of figures. However, instead of being part of the Play Arts Kai line, they are scaling them down to the Bring Arts line. Square Enix has revealed newly designed versions of Spider-Man, Captain America, and Iron Man. The figures are designed by Tetsuya Nomura, who is known for his Final Fantasy character designs (among many others). The figures stand about 6″ tall, and will include multiple interchangeable hands, accessories, and figure stands.
The new Marvel Universe Variant Figures are due for release in December. They have an MSRP of $134.99 each. you can see additional details and photos after the jump.

Bring Arts - Marvel Universe Variant Figures

These are not only amazingly ugly but also hella expensive - most Figuarts cost about half as much.
And from what I hear frequently the QC isn't quite there with Bring Arts either...
They look awesome. Wanted to buy Iron Man and Spiderman.
But not for that Price!!! Seriously why are Square Enix such Assholes?
I can accept a Price Range of 80$-100$
like the Kingdom Hearts Bring Arts.
But 135$ for one....16 Centimetre Figure????
Double Price of Mafex and S.H. Figuarts?
No Square, but sorry, this is bullshit.
1 Bring Arts Figure has
THE SAME PRICE AS
1 HUGE PLAY ARTS KAI Figure; 140$
Square Enix becomes greedy AND Insane.
So I saw this go up for preorder last night and was like hey that Spidey look awesome looked at the price and my Jaw hit the floor. Pick up my Jaw and the saw that this was bring art not play arts needless to say my jaw went back to the floor. I don't know why but it looks like history is repeating itself with this line. This line started with a roughly 55 dollar Kingdom Hearts figures. Slowly added both Dragon Quest and Neir with a sprinkle of Final Fantasy. And each time a new figure comes out the price goes up and hey i understand inflation but this is getting out of hand the new Final Fantasy single figure is 95 bucks and that is very steep why the hell are these 135. Is it the marvel license because maybe Bandai has marked up their marvel figures a little. is it Tetsuya Nomura because if it is well leave him alone and let him not finish a video game. My problem with this is that this line was brought forward because collectors had two complaints with Play Arts size and price. With these and recent figures looks like size is the long difference now. Hard pass now but don't be surprised when FFVII figures show up at the same price.
I almost feel bad for Square and don't want to hate on this too much, I also don't know much about this Tetsuya Nomura guy other than that he's a Final Fantasy designer? But these seriously remind me of something you might see on Reddit from some fan artist like "hey guys, here's some armored Marvel characters I drew!" it has that amateurish fan art vibe, is what I'm saying...
Also yeah, the price is nuts considering these probably don't have any diecast or any other premium materials, chrome etc.
Figures look like they could be fun, I don't mind alt verse stuff sprinkled in the collection.
That price though - can't do it. SHF/Mafex are a hard sell sometimes with how good Legends can be. This is literally 6 times the price of a Legends figure.
Not apples to apples, and final product will be steps above Legends, but not 6 times as much. In the end, these will just get buried on a shelf with 20 dollar figures, so that price doesn't warrant the upgrade.
I'll stick to Marvel Legends and Storm Collectibles instead, thank you very much.
These would be great if they weren’t ugly af mini PAKs.
I'm really curious about Japanese economy, do Japanese people really get paid that much more?!? I understand shipping and import fee and all that for goods that come over to the U.S., but how do the Japanese people afford a $135 6" figure?!?! I don't think Hasbro would ever ask for that with a straight face, even if they make a figure that's super premium.
Also yeah, the price is nuts considering these probably don't have any diecast or any other premium materials, chrome etc.
As has been stated before, neither Figuarts, figma nor Mafex (to name a few) are this expensive regularly.
Like others are saying, WAY WAY WAY Overpriced. These are $65 figures AT BEST. I'll hope that a KO company starts pumping these out b/c the prices are too nutty to support the original maker.
Marvel Universe Variant - Thor Bring Arts Figure by Square Enix - The Toyark - News

I havent been crazy about the Marvel bring arta but I might need that Thor
IMO these have been getting worse and worse design wise.
These designs are Not for me.
I am really really sad that I can not afford these.
Since I buy every Figure twice, always (Keep one sealed)
it would be 270$ for 1 Character. That is beyond Insane.
Really want the Spider Man and Thor, but not for that Price.
I'm actually digging that Thor design especially compared to the others.
I actually like them, love the design but don't understand why are they so expensive? These prices are in figuarts territory and there are Figuarts cheaper than this.
Usually buy 2 of everything but with those prices it will be insane.
