Gyms are still closed but I’ve been sweating to the oldies and dealing my meals with this guy.
You can get your own Richard Simmons figure this Fall.
Wow thanks NECA...

Surprising announcement for sure. But with how well the Golden Girls sold, I'm not too shocked they're mining other popular 80's icons. It's a pretty low risk release. The clothing fabrication is relatively cheap, and the only real new pieces are the portraits. If they had a freelancer (like Trevor Grove) work on them, then they're not even taking away their in-house resources to work on it.
It's actually something I'm surprised Mego didn't get to first.
So.... anyone actually planning on buying this?
Cobra1, yes! I am pre-ordering this for my mother. It will be the first action figures she’s ever owned.
well not for me it did make me laugh. I just hope someday NECA can get Mr Rogers likeness from the Fred Rogers Company. I want a Mr Rogers with cloth cardigan sweater and the like.
I think that's pretty neat.
definitely an icon of my childhood.
always super positive, and helped a lot of people with their perception of themselves.
not to mention that likeness is dead on.
If I still collected anything in that scale, I would probably order.
A Mr. T figure would have been cooler, but oh well.
Anyone knows what happened with their Conan license? Would be great if they retook those figures, add articulation, etc.
Specially now that super7 is basically destroying those XD
I never knew I needed this. I need this.
Not something I'd be interested in owning but looks like a really fun figure. Won't be long till they're making Paul Lynde, Charo and Mummenschanz figures.
Yes, absolutely!
Mummenschanz ewwwwww. They scareh.
Golden Girls sold because it's a popular show that's still running in syndication. Richard Simmons was just a kitschy oddity who hasn't been relevant in decades. I can't imagine toy collectors being big enough fans to want to own this and anyone under the age of 30 wouldn't even know who the fuck he is.

NECA posted something yesterday about a figure release out of left field. This is definitly aimed at people who don't collect, it's fine, it's a MEGO, this didn't take up a spot of something I was going to get.
If it's successful, they can make Robot Richard Simmons.
Now we wait for mrburns evil robotic richard simmons
How is NECA wasting plastic on this shit when I've been waiting forever for them to make a retro Dr. Phibes? Or ANY Vincent Price character?
Not enough of a market for figures based on Carpenter’s “The Thing,” they said. Needed to be viable for mass retail, they said. But this, there’s definitely enough of a market for this.
