Conan the Barbarian Figures by Super7

I really hope these do well enough to warrant a second series! I really want a Warpaint Conan!
Any insight as to why the Conan figure is so drastically different than the version shown at Toy Fair? I'm not gonna lie, I'm pretty let down.
These... don’t really look that good honestly. The faces are super weird; Conan looks like a Gelfling-version of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I’m hoping the first Conan they showed is included in a wave 2 with Valeria, Subotai and Akiro.
what happened to the super7 "classic" Conan showed at the power con?
Did I miss it?
Holy moly, im buying this for sure.
Getting Conan and the snake guy, this is way better than the old looking Frazetta figure, forgot what brand that was that from?
SideNote: have you seen the Dark crystal/netflix series? its amazing!!!!!

It says in the description in that these are for the 1982 movie and perhaps the other version of Conan was from the sequel which wasn't that good. The first movie was really good.
That Conan is embarrassingly bad. Doesn't look anything like Arnold and the body is completely wrong.
Glad I got a 1/6 version a few months ago to hold me off because this is a major let down.
Wow, that Conan figure looks like total shit. Actually, they all look like shit. Hard, hard pass.
Been waiting practically my entire life for figures from Conan the Barbarian and Conan the Destroyer. I've been a fan of the Conan character for as long as I can remember, and I ate up anything associated with Frank Frazetta styled fantasy art, which is probably why I became a He-Man fan. As a kid, when I would bust out my MOTU or Remco MOTU knock-off figures, I would try to recreate the action from the Conan movies. I REALLY wanted figures from both Conan films so I used my MOTU figures as stand-ins (I only found out in adulthood that Remco actually did make Conan figures).
That being said, these figures are a mega disappointing and I will not purchase any of them. I understand why Super7 used the MOTUC bodies, but they just don't work as representations for real-life humans, even ones as massively buff as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sven-Ole Thorsen. Thought the same thing when Super7 revealed their movie He-Man figures. I can't believe the weapons shown in these images are shown to scale because they are gargantuan and totally unrealistic, even for the massively muscular bodies the figures are using. I don't understand why that version of Conan would come with a broken Father's Sword, and Thulsa Doom should have an unbroken Father's Sword, and where's his rad bow and snake arrows? The likenesses on the helmeted versions of Thulsa Doom, Rexor and Thorngrim are just OK...they are almost there, but the unhelmeted heads have really soft sculpts that don't capture the look of their respective actors very well at all, and look a bit cartoony to me. What expression is the open-mouthed Conan head even supposed to be making? It almost looks like it's about to start singing or something.
I really, REALLY wish I had something good to say about these figures.

Seriously, Super7 should just stick with ReAction figures. Mega-disappointed.
I have to admit, these are a bit disappointing to me as well.
Super 7 is not NECA, but I really expected near NECA levels of accuracy for this line. I like what S7 has continued to do with MOTU, but I think they missed the mark here. I don't really want "Classics" Conan. Ironically, Arnold "fattened" up for Conan coming off his previous Mr Olympia win because he didn't think it was right for the character to be quite so ripped. So it's even less correct to use such a jacked buck for his figure.
I don't know if this is a situation where the only way this could happen was if they used existing tooling, but at $45 a pop I don't think it's the right route.
It's too bad because the costume sculpting is phenomenal. But all the faces do look a little off, and since these are full-protos, I would expect the production faces to look stranger still. The weapons look true to scale to me. That hammer and Conan's sword really was huge in the movie, so that doesn't bother me much.
I would probably suck it up and bite on these at $30 or even $35 and consider them "close enough". But at $180 for the first wave, I would then be signing up for the next wave at another $180 and I wouldn't feel good about either.
Ultimately, this particular license probably does need to go to NECA, where we'd get a 7" movie likeness for $25.
Yeah... I was on the fence with these.
Super huge fan of Conan, but the cartoony proportions do not set well with this line. (and even less for the price)
That being said, I don't care about that scale as much as I care how awful the figures bodies and heads look. I might just get the Conan for the sword alone though because the sculpt looks great.
I will say, the sword does look cool and detailed though. I'd like to get the figure just for the sword.
The Conan headsculpt is horrible. Ah well, perhaps they will change it
It really is incredibly disappointing that these all came out so lackluster. Even if they were going for a "stylized" version of the movie characters, these just don't look good.
I've been a Conan fan for most of my life, I've read tons of the novels and comics, seen all the movies, the cartoon, the short lived TV Show, played several games both video and and table top, but Conan just hasn't had the greatest luck when it comes to figures. About the only really good one I can remember (not including 1/6 stuff) is the two pack LCBH figure from toybiz.
Also, am I the only one who would kill for a Jason Momoa Conan? I know the movie had it's issues, but he kicked ass.
I’ve been waiting for Conan figure for a long long time.....these are disappointing.
15-20 bucks too expensive for my taste.
You are right, Thulsa Doom didn't use the snake arrow during the raid scene, and he wasn't wearing his armor when he slew Valeria, but he did don his armor (sans helmet) when he tried to kill The Princess with a snake arrow. I kind of have an issue with the Stygian Dagger being included with Doom because I'm pretty sure King Osric is the only character we see handling it. I'd much rather have Doom's signature snake arrow instead but since there will probably never be a King Osric figure, I guess they had to include the dagger with Doom.
