NECA just debuted a long awaited addition to their kaiju line up. They have revealed their King Kong 7″ Scale Figure! The upcoming action figure stands over 8″ tall, with about 30 points of articulation. The design is an original take on King Kong, with head sculpts seemingly inspired by the original films. The figure is scheduled for release in September. Check out the details below, and the new photos after the jump.
NECA is proud to add another kaiju to its collection. At long last King Kong will be joining NECA’s action figure line!
King Kong is an original take on the classic gorilla, with super detailed hair and battle wounds across the body and head sculpts. This massive figure stands at 8″ tall with over 30 points of articulation. Included with the figure are 2 heads with varied expressions, a pair of open hands, and closed fist hands.
Window box packaging with opening 5th panel front cover.

King Kong 7-Inch Scale Figure by NECA

Not only is this a great Kong, but it'll make an awesome generic ape for your other figures to fight! Or even a Gorilla Grodd, in case people missed out on the DCUC version haha
So an original design - meaning Godzilla is still the only Toho monster they make.
I mean its cool that they're doing this, but why isn't it even scaled with Godzilla? Surely Toho can’t prevent you from making a standalone Kong that happens to be as tall as Godzilla.
The figure looks great,my only minor gripe is that I wish it included one stoic face

At 8" tall he's definitely too big to go with any of their Godzillas, unless you pair him with the 2' long one to go for a more classic size discrepancy.
On it's own this is a pretty solid looking Kong, I'll keep an eye on it.
I love that figure by the way, probably why I will pass on this one, I already have the perfect Kong for my monster shelf.
Finally. Sold.
Nice articulation. While the one head resembled Kong 1933, the other almost looks like Kong 2017. Will set nicely with the Godzilla 2019 figure.
Now, if we could just get a Toho Kong to go with Godzilla 1962!
1933 or Jackson??? Looks cool either way. Wish it was a Toho Kong though.
Put him with the X-plus T-Rex and you'll have a reasonable '33 scene.

Pretty good job.....Neca does a really nice job on most of there toys and are usually well priced. This Kong should do well.
Surprised that they didn't also feature an Ann Darrow item. I think Kong fands would appreciate this attention to detail.
I hope he scales nicely with the Godzillas.
Not quite as nice looking as Mezco's Kong (which is amazing!) but I'll still get one or two- like has been said- he should have also come with a non-open mouth.
Cancelled my Marty McFly order at BBTS and ordered Kong! I dunno, as good as Marty looked (at least the '85 version), having a King Kong figure is just so much more appealing to me, and I should be more picky with my toy pickups...
On it's own this is a pretty solid looking Kong, I'll keep an eye on it.
