Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cartoon 2-Packs Wave 3 by NECA

Casey Jones looks really, really good. I dig the goofy cartoon Slash too. But, I think I'm bowing out of the cartoon collection. My area Target's just aren't stocking these figures at all, even before the lock downs. I'll just focus on the video game and movie TMNT figures.
I order the NECA cartoon figures from a German toystore online. I had to wait about 3-4 months to get the Bebop and Rocksteady 2-pack. But at least I was able to get it...
Will these be available in the beginning of june or mid?
is it me or is April's head too big, or more like it actually that her body is too small?
Everything else is a bonus to me. But without being able to grab Bebop and Rocksteady, then I'm not compelled to track down the rest. I also have no desire to be double or more than retail for them.
Neca should give out release dates or put these up for preorder. I never even saw any of wave 1 until last week when I saw Leo/Shredder and Don/Krang at Target. I got lucky with Wave 2 and found them once.
I found Bebop/Rocksteady multiple times. Issues I have is that I bought 2 and broke the first one. Its true the feet swivels on Bebop are extremely stuck and also do not move as freely as you think. Lucky enough to be able to return. After messing with B/R kind of concerned about the quality even though the heft is good. Lucky enough to own the 2017 SDCC set in one swoop. If I see these new ones will probably purchase just not go out of my way to get them. I want to bow out just as bad. Now if they just make some Triceratons.
Compared to the prototype, the new head is garbage. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
April has looked steadily worse every time they show pictures.
I have to think, though, that the angle here is doing that to the head. Could it really be that big / look that bad?
She is only figure left I wanted in this line, so I guess I'm done with it after wave 1.
Every angle makes her look like her head is too big/body is too small. It looks like April was hit with a Chibi ray set at 25% power. The prototype wasn't perfect, but at least the proportions looked better.
The worst part is this will likely now be the shelf warmer and make it look like people don't want April. Frankly, the head is just way too out of proportion to look remotely right.
However, since I am sure this is the only April figure we will get in this line, I will keep my pre-order. I gave up on my Target stores and with the corona virus potentially ramping up again where I live I am staying away from stores. I prefer ordering online anyway. I get my NECA Turtles from a Canadian website where the only "mark up" is the shipping and an extra 5 bucks per pack, but since there is no tax it is basically what I would have paid in NYC anyway minus the shipping which is also only about 5 per pack, if that.
Whoa, huge difference on the April heads. Prototype looks perfect but the official one looks like she put on a helmet with her own face...
If it is truly as big as it looks, maybe we'll get some explanation for what happened.
This reminds me a great deal of what happened with Hawke when Super7 took over from Mattel. But Neca has been doing this forever and hasn't missed like this in a long time.
Yup, prototype April was perfect....for some reason I like big head April but the proto was better

Much like DCC's BTAS Poison Ivy, this giant headed April is a rare miss in an otherwise amazing line.
I just want that Casey Jones. I want it BAD. It seriously looks incredible.
Unfortunately, that means I'll have to brave ebay, since like a lot of other people here my local Targets almost NEVER carry NECA's TMNT figures. Occasionally I'll come across one or two, but it's incredibly rare. But if anyone comes across Casey in their Target travels, please PM me. We'll totally make a deal.
As for April, her head has definitely ballooned since the prototype. I don't think it looks as bad as everyone is making it out to be - it kinda gives her a cute animated quality - but there's no question that the prototype head looked much better.
I’ve said my mind enough on neca and turtle-gate. I’m out. April is not as bad as she is being made out to be, but she’s wrong. I’m finishing the movie turtles and then leaving neca behind. Neca is the only toy company I stress about finding their product. Solution....yup...done.
This actually helps me out, I had no where to put my super7 turtle classics, so they will go on the neca playset. I have a stronger attachment to the toys than the cartoon. This is true for all my collecting habits. I love he-man but despise the 80s toon, so the filmation figures were never a love of mine. Same with turtles, although the turtles toon was watchable.
If there's a must-have, pre-order it from BBTS or something. Or, if you need to see it in-hand due to QC issues (guilty!), wait until it's been on ebay for a few weeks and the initial demand dies down, the quantity increases, and the prices subsequently dip. But why stress over it? It's not worth it.
I have my preorders for the horror figures I want still open and the toony terrors. How many Freddy and Jason figures can one own? How many predators? I don’t care for the attitude that we get when we collectors can’t get a neca item. I have a good amount of disposable income, I just know who’s getting it and who’s not. I wish randy and the neca team luck, and thank them for their great product. But there model is not mine, so we part. Simple as that.
Okay.
Let’s go back in time for a second..who was making Adult Collector TMNT figures before NECA? Figuarts..that went nowhere. Dream Ex..that ended quick. Mondo..how many years did they take to release them? Playmates Toys..again, went nowhere really.
I’ve said this time and time again..It’s not NECA it’s the TMNT license. It’s difficult! You can’t just throw figures in a toy aisle like everybody wants. However, they exist! They weren’t cancelled, or taken years to ship. TMNT figures sucked before NECA came along. I gave up on ever getting quality figures tbh, Playmates had a major stranglehold on TMNT.
SDCC 2016 they changed that. 4 years ago we got exclusives only, and no presale for SDCC. Now we can find various iterations at Specialty, Target, Walmart, and Gamestop.
Now, in present time, with all the improvements they’ve made, you’ve given up?
Think about this..How many years before you have a set of Super 7 Turtles?
