NECA has released final in-packaging photos for their upcoming Ultimate Alpha Predator 100th Edition Figure. The artwork is done by Jason Edmiston. This 7″ scale figure will stand over 8″ tall. The Alpha Predator features armor and a mask based on the unused Predator design from the original film. The figure includes a removable mask, interchangeable hands, a staff, and more. Look for the figure to ship out in June. It will be priced between $30 and $35. You can see the new in-packaging photos after the jump.
To commemorate the release of over 100 different Predator figures comes the very first original design and concept by NECA, the Alpha Predator!
In place of the traditional tech, gadgets, and armor worn by other yautja, the Alpha’s attire takes on a more insect-like appearance; a subtle homage to the original 1987 Predator design. Standing at 8” tall with over 30 points of articulation, the Ultimate Alpha Predator is an entirely new sculpt kitted out with an array of accessories including a removable mask, hook, gauntlets, and 3 pairs of interchangeable hands. Classic Predator weapons such as the wrist blades, staff, and shuriken, have been reimagined to fit his unique theme.

Cannot wait for this guy. Didn't even put it together yesterday when I saw the photos initially, but here we have a Yautja free of any technology. Love the design.
Very cool design, but I'm going to wait to see how it looks at retail before I make up my mind.
By the way, this was supposed to be their 100th figure? What happened, and is it under or over 100?
Looks nice, too bad that I swore never to collect anything from NECA anymore.

Out of Curiosity, why?
Out of curiosity, why?
I’m really digging the design so far.
The net-less body and rough-textured skin has me even more convinced that NECA will be reusing the main body for updated ultimate Super Predators. The Predators movie is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year so I wouldn’t be surprised if we got an announcement for those designs at toy fair.
On that note, Predator 2 is also celebrating its 30th anniversary this year so I’m really hoping NECA takes advantage of the occasion and not only re-release a special one-off anniversary wave like they did with the original movie with updated versions of the Lost Tribe, but also finally find a way to release a Detective Harrigan from Predator 2 which is one of the most sorely needed and underrated characters of the entire franchise in my opinion and likely many others.
This looks pretty cool. I may jump on this. I really only get the film predator and aliens figures.
If Alpha has good quality control I'll pick one up.
But then again, he's shot down figures before and then they've been made, so it seems that Randy likes pulling the wool over our eyes sometimes. Who knows? Harrigan in a 2-pack with either a battle-damaged City Hunter or maybe the Elder? I'd buy that shit day one.
I am all over this fig. Looks freakin’ amazing.
I just grabbed LaserShot and Ahab during the Target NECA sale. This guy will go great with them! I just they'd release an Ultimate Big Red, so I could get one without having to sell any organs.

I love this original design, and I hope they continue to develop more. Very cool! Looks incredible, with loads of detail. I just pre-ordered one.
Okay now I have to get the Bone Throne just to put Alpha in it.
Caveman Predator. I dig it.
There was no predator head under that weird bug helmet in the original design, just a bug head! This needs a screen accurate alt head!
^^^
This isn't supposed to be a toy of that costume, just a reference to it.
I only saw the pictures today. I don't buy NECA products, but thumbs up for this awesome design. A perfect amalgamation of the original, scrapped version and the redesign which became the Predator we all know.
If they made a movie about this guy hunting all kinds of alien monsters for 120 minutes without a single piece of dialog spoken I’d be down for it.
Personally I would try to adapt some of the Dark Horse comics as closely as possible. Maybe animated instead of live-action for a change of pace too.
