Just call him "Kenner colors Boba Fett"! The Disney Infinity figure used the same color scheme as well haha

That CW teaser better mean we're finally getting an Ahsoka figure after all these years and not just more cheap clonetrooper repaints. We've been waiting for 12 years for one. Sideshow supposedly had an Ahsoka in the works back in 2012 and then cancelled it before the Disney takeover.

Oh you'll get Ahsoka...an Ahsoka inspired paint job on the helmets of the 501st.

Fett better have a spring-loaded backpack missile or GTFO.

    1. Hot Toys has never released a clone trooper before. Commander Cody is up for preorder, that's it.

    2. Sideshow is the laziest high-end collectible company out there. If they did make an Ahsoka prototype it was probably garbage.

    3. Speaking of lazy, the only reason HT is investing in clone troopers is for the exact reason you just said: cheap repaints. They beat the Imperial Stormtrooper to death and probably would've beat the FO Stormtrooper to death if they thought they could make money off it.

I think Vader is a pretty lame reissue, but Fett is a good idea in vintage colors since that always sells. Vader should've come without the big base stand to set the first ESB release apart and also to reduce the price of this one so people can just display it in box if they wanted.

I think it's very telling that they didn't show the head of Rex. I'm expecting them to do him in a realistic way using the Headsculpt for Cody. If that's the case we might not get an Ahsoka until the live action one. I just don't see Hot Toys doing this line in cartoon form since they've got prequel era Dooku, Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda already. They'd have to go back and re-do all of them to fit in with a cartoon line of figures.

Seriously? Dude, this is clearly a repaint of the Episode V version that came out a year or so ago. You don't maximize profit by adding a feature like that.

Hot Toys is still a good company but repacks and an emphasis on figures that are easily repainted are why it's not great anymore. Star Wars collections without the likes of Lando, Padme, Poe, Bespin Han, etc., aren't really Star Wars collections.

Nah, even with the face being the same it'll still have to be a different headsculpt because of the different haircut.

Yeah sorry I didn't mean the exact same head, I'm assuming they digitally sculpted that head so they could rework it into any Clone they want and for Jango.

They have to be cartoon the cartoon/animation sculpts otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense announcing it as a Clone Wars specific license. HT may have just released a Dooku, Anakin and Obi Wan bit their CW interpretations are very distinctly different than the real life actors. The Arkham Knight sculpts from HT have been amazing so I expect they’ll capture these likenesses with equally awesome results.
Plus CW gives HT sooo sooo much reuse of the clone armour and sculpt. Ahsoka is the only one I must have- I’m undecided on the rest- but they may hold off on her until after they release The Mandalorian version.

I’d probably prefer for the Black series to have a CW sub line.

Just from the preview pic we know it's not going to be animated-style, based on the fact the armor is based on the actual movie look rather than TCW's stylized look. It still makes sense to call it Clone Wars-based cuz it's based on characters and looks from Clone Wars, just in the realistic movie style.

Yeah I'm surprised so many are clinging to "well it says TCW, it must be animated!" It's just the characters they're based on. They have a gigantic line of SW figures already, and they've got 5 figures of that era done or coming out. They're not going to go back and re-do all of them, much easier to just release what few TCW figures in their style than the other way around.

Yeah, the Black Series has a Plo Koon and Kit Fisto coming out soon based on the Clone Wars but they're definitely not TCW anime style. But they look awesome and I love those 2 so definitely bought to encourage more. Along with Togruta, Nautolan and Kel Dor are my favorite species.

It was just a shame Lucas chose the worst designs for all the major species and roles in the prequels. Great, now I'm thinking about movies where the Gungans were replaced with Nautolans or even the Mon Calamari (both aquatic). Luckily both the cartoon and the cgi CW had actual aquatic battles with better species.

The upcoming Plo Koon and Kit Fisto are both based on their appearances in the movies.

Weird. It doesn’t make a huge amount of sense to me to just take a few characters that werent in the movies and do them in a realistic style when they cold start a whole new sub line of Star Wars figures. I’d say they’re limiting themselves by not going the toon accurate route but we’ll see.
The Jedi in their CW gear but realistic sculpts of the actors who portrayed them, a Ray Parks Maul with spider legs, a Savage Opress to pair it with and an Asajj Ventress like the mythos statue... yeah I could get onboard with that.

Because why would they make a separate subline that wouldn't aesthetically fit with what they've already made when they could just put them in the normal realistic movie style that they are supposed to be put in anyway when they're brought into live-action (or live-action-style, like Battlefront 1/2) projects, and they'd fit in with their prior releases just fine?

I’m prepared for the CW figures to just be Clones, but I’m hoping beyond hope we get Ahsoka and Maul. Not sure how they’d do the “likeness” for Ahsoka but I still want it. She needs at least one good figure somewhere across all the various SW lines.

It would almost be cruel and borderline offensive to hype TCW Hot Toys and NOT give us Ahsoka. Which isn't to say they won't do it.
