Play Arts Kai Final Fantasy VII Remake – Reno and Rude

Posted on April 24, 2020 at 10:56 am by Joe Moore under Video Game Toy News

FF7 Remake Rude and Reno

Two more figures are joining the Final Fantasy VII Remake Play Arts Kai line up. Previously, we shared news on the first four figures; Cloud, Barret, Aerith, and Tifa. Last night, we reported on the Sephiroth figure. Not long after Sephiroth was revealed, Play Arts Kai version of Rude and Reno were revealed by Square Enix Japan. Known as the Turks, Rude and Reno are elite members of Shinra, usually tasked with taking on sensitive and important missions. Their travels constantly bring them into conflict with Cloud and the members of Avalanche.

Reno induces multiple interchangeable hands, three swap out portraits, a rod, and a figure stand. He is scheduled for a December release. Rude will include two swap out portraits, multiple interchangeable hands, and a figure stand. Look for Rude to be released in January 2021. The figures will be priced at 16,280 Yen each (about $151 USD). US details should be released soon. You can see the photos after the jump.

UPDATE:
Pre-orders have begun to go live. The figures will be priced at $154.99 each. Reno is due out in January 2021, while Rude is due in February 2021. Check the links below for pre-orders.

These look good, no questions asked. Tifa especially, she’s perfect.

But man, why aren’t these Bring Arts? These are just way too big IMO. Gonna wait a couple of years until they do the inevitable and shrink these down to 1:12 scale.

Had the first version of Cloud and Sephiroth but imagined it would be ages before others get released and some change might be made to the design.
So now I'm back in for all the 4.

Same. I do have some Play Arts Kai but I stopped since a) I couldn't afford the increasing prices and b) the scale is just too big. Not to mention that back then they also had some quality issues even though I was pretty fine with the ones I've got. I am happy for any collector of that scale range but it would be amazin to get Bring Arts as well. They are looking fantastic!

This looks pretty good, and awfully tempted to get back into PAK. I might just pick up Aerith and Tifa to go with my AC Cloud.

P.S. Have they finally revamped their stands.

I'll get Tifa for sure and maybe Aerith, but for Cloud and Barrett I don't know. They look amazing, but I hate that getting a whole set of anything out of Square requires a second mortgage.

Woah, they are expensive, and certainly overpriced. But, not 2nd mortgage level though haha. That would be Hot Toys....

I'm kidding of course, but for the whole set they certainly are an investment. Keep in mind, too, that these are the first four of who knows how many to come, at $122 a piece it ain't happening.

    Pre-ordered Tifa, she's my fav.

Also, for the record, the Cloud and Barret are 2nd editions. Cloud's headsculpt is redone. Barret has a bit of retooling, a new head without sunglasses, and a more accurate gun-arm.

Ohh, so they had the AC release, the Fenrir release, and then the FF7 release, and this is the 2nd edition of the FF7 release? That is kind of..... annoying!

I suppose there will inevitably be another Aerith and Tifa when Part 2 of the game comes out lol.

Not gonna lie this is pretty infuriating as someone who just bought the stupid expensive first class edition of the game for the figure, only for them to announce a totally different cloud right around release.. F U square...

I believe the Cloud and Barret were originally released when the game was first announced 5 years ago, before the designs were finalized.

Pretty sure the First Class Edition figure is the same as this one.

It's literally the same exact figure as the First Class one, plus you get the Hardy Daytona and, you know, the collector's edition of the game.

Considering the Advent Children PAK Cloud and Fenrir is $360 and the First Class Edition is around there PLUS the entire deluxe edition of the game, it's a damn good deal.

But hey, any reason to complain am I right?

Shame they didn't make Cloud game accurate at least. His belts are brown in game and he has a different bracer than the PAK

They look great but given how expensive they are combined, I'll probably just stick with picking my favorite so I'll only be getting Aerith.

Honestly, I have no idea how they messed up the bracer not once, but twice. It's been literally the same design since the original artwork for FFVII. Oh well, I'm super happy with Tifa and, for figures of this size and price, I'm just going to stick with her since she's my favorite.

Id buy all of these if they were Bring-Arts. Didn't even know people still collected Play-Arts Kai figures.

I loved this game, and the OG, but this is a pricey ass collection. Also, didn't realize Cloud and Barret were reworked from the originals.

And, I want the bike now damnit.

Jessie would be awesome. I love how much personality she just exudes in every moment she's in the Remake.
