The new season of Castlevania is now streaming on Netflix. The animated adaptation of the popular video game franchise is on its third season, and shows no signs of slowing down. After the death of Dracula, the dark forces of the night are scattered and looking to plan their next move. Trevor and Sypha head out in search of adventure, while Alucard tends to not only Castle Dracula, but the remains of the Belmont estate as he looks for purpose in a post-Dracula world.
This statue of Trevor Belmont is based on his appearance in the first season of the series. It is available in stores now. The PVC statue stands at 9″ tall, featuring the last Belmont as he wields his trusty whip, standing atop a rock themed base. It’s priced at $49.99, though some stores seem to have it listed a bit lower. Our friends at Diamond Select Toys have provided the statue. Check out a quick review and photo gallery after the jump.
Castlevania – Trevor Belmont Gallery PVC Figure by Diamond Select Toys
- Great sculpt
- Nice paint work
- Light but solid feeling
- Affordable price point
The Trevor Belmont statue is packed in a large window box, sitting in a plastic clamshell tray. No assembly is required, and the statue is ready for display right out of the box. It’s cast mainly in PVC, with a softer plastic used for the whip to prevent breakage issues.
Trevor looks great here. Taking 2D art and giving it dimension can be tricky, especially when it comes to likenesses. However, sculptor Rocco Tartamella did a great job making sure the statue has a strong resemblance to his animated counterpart. The pose is nice, and the detail work is crisp and smooth, and carries the animated look well. Trevor holds his whip in one hand, with an assortment of weapons attached to his costume. While they are permanently affixed, they do look like they could be wielded at any moment. Paint is strong here, with sharp lines breaking up each of the areas. Gold metallic paint is used for some of the embroidery on his costume, while mostly flat colors are used everywhere else. Trevor looks like Trevor, and there’s not much more I could ask for.
If you’re a fan of the show (and it’s hard not to be), this is a solid pick up. At under $50, it’s just the right price for the casual statue buyer. Check out some photos below, and the full gallery after that.
