Masters of the WWE Universe Wave 2 has dropped! This is Mattel’s WWE and Masters of the Universe crossover line, using the new MOTU Origins style bodies. For those who don’t know, Origins are vintage He-Man style bodies with added articulation. Before MOTU Origins fully hits, they’ve been using the body style for this line, mixing up WWE Superstars and MOTU characters. This wave has four pieces – Macho Man Randy Savage with Man At Arms callbacks, Rey Mysterio Jr. with Stratos pieces, John Cena Faker He-Man style, and Roman Reigns with Fisto elements. In Package the MOTU elements are more hidden, but once out of the box they really show off their crossover feels.
MOTU collectors should note that the parts needed for future Origins characters not yet announced are being worked in here, so the designs are ready to go if/when they get there.
We’ve run these guys through a quick gallery. They are hitting Walmart now, where they are exclusive to. Read on to check the shots courtesy of Mattel!
Another Mattel Crossover. Silly, but fun. Good for the kids, and MOTU customizers

These are amazing! Definitely getting that Warrior. I wish there were more 80s-90s era characters included in the lineup, but there’s no denying how fun this concept is.
Wow! I might just get one to customize into some of the dudes we won't get for MOTU origins. I wonder why I can't see anything in the fourth panel of the lineup, But I hope that john cena looks good, even if they refuse to let us see him.
I've seen these in hand and it's taken every ounce and fiber in me to not dig myself into a new hole and grab em. I picked up Sting for a buddy of mine and he's awesome.
I really cant wait to see where they go with this, and I hope this goes for the long haul. I'm definitely grabbing Macho Man (at Arms) and Scareglow Undertaker when they're released. Hopefully we get Kane (Jitstu's design works perfect for him) Stone Cold (he'd have to be Rattlor, it's too easy) and a Jake the Snake Roberts (King Hiss anyone?)
Some She-Ra styled classics would be most welcome for WWE's ladies as well. The possibilities...

Bull themed Rock? Or Rokkon/Stonedar play? Hehe.
Damn they're pretty awesome, I'd love the ring but have no space. Might pick up one or two for my work shelf display.
What's the MSRP on these? They're all like $30+ on Amazon.
Figs are 14.99, Ring is 29.99.
However, Walmart's website is showing them all significantly higher right now.
Anywhere else is reselling, including Walmart's site via 3rd party sellers.
Damn I'm definitely getting that Sting. He was my all-time favorite wrestler growing up.
Ya know. I don't get into wrestling figure at all. But these are very well done and the concept is neat. Love the Terror Claws.
Saw the single figures showing up now at Walmart, but they already have the ring with Cena and Triple H on clearance for $20. Kind of an odd choice to clear out the ring before the first wave hit.

Missed opportunity there...he screams Stonedar or Rokkon.
That said...I do hope that Mattel drops a bit more MOTU easter eggs into the designs, because some of them are a bit soft or nonexistent...Finn Balor for example looks cool, and has the Demon King gimmick, but outside of the bulky MOTU frame, I cant for the life of me pinpoint which character in MOTU he is supposed to represent, if any.
Cena ain't so bad but where's Stone Cold?
Hard to believe, but going into 2020, there is already an entire generation that has never seen a Stone Cold Steve Austin, Macho Man or Hulk Hogan match, so it only benefits the line to go all in with the current big names (such as Balor, Cena, and the upcoming New Day, and Strowman figures) before going all in with the legends.

MOTU Origins retail was announced to be 14.99 , I'm not expecting something different for these figures, which look awesome by the way, but Walmart is currently offering them at 30+...
Really surprised something like this hasn't been going on for years and years already. MOTU-style wrestling figures was a bit of a sub-genre in the 80s.
Would love a further cross of the brand... Beastman dressed as Kaine, He-Man as the Rock, Skeletor in McMahon's suit, etc. I personally don't care about wrestling as a "sport" but I love looking at the characters this brand of entertainment has produced since the 80's.
Anyway... I like it when a toy company does something that is both new and "retro". The MOTU and WWE seem like a natural crossover. Far more than DC/MOTUC. Really hope these are more popular in the heart of the WWE fandom. Would love to see this branding expand into games and apps. Could be really successful.
My "Dream Figure" from this line would be a Man-E-Faces-inspired Mick Foley figure, whose faces would rotate from Cactus Jack, to Dude Love, to Mankind. Seems like a natural fit...
This first wave isn't perfect, but it is really solid, and this line has a ton of potential- Wave 2 already looks even more awesome. I'm figuring/hoping this will be one of those things, as Mattel has done with some other brand-new products before (She-Ra at Target, etc.), and be something that's only Wal-Mart exclusive at first, like maybe for 6 months, and then becomes a general-release item. The line, so far, seems to have a good mix of new and old-school wrestlers, some of them could just be MOTU-ified a little more, but it's a great idea, and the easy-interchangeability of parts is a brilliant idea.
