Really hoping that we get a Muckman and a large version of Krang's Android body. Also kinda hoping they get into IDW Turtles, definitely my favorite designs of the TMNT characters. I would love to have a Herman the Hermit crab.

I imagine these will be in the $40 to $50 range, which means around $200 for the full team, bummer. If they make Casey Jones I'll buy in a heartbeat. And I'll probably at least grab Donatello, since I usually do.

Did we ever get clarification on whether or not the weapons are easily removable from the weapon "trees", or if they are connected to them, requiring you to cut them off like on the vintage versions? I appreciate the attention to detail in comparison to the vintage line, but this is one feature they should NOT make vintage-accurate. I don't want to have to cut/break them apart to get those weapons. Really bad idea if that's how they have it designed.

I imagine there are a few of us here wondering the same. I don't know if we'll find out before these go up on Oct 1st, hopefully we at least find out that day. Won't be a deal breaker for me, but I hope they are attached to the sprue and have to be cut free.

Yes, the sprues are an important factor for me as well. If the accessories are required to be cut from the sprue then the entire line is done for me. You can’t charge this much for figures and then assume everyone is happy with cutting accessories from plastic and fix the ugly leftover marks themselves.

On the other hand - if all accessories come separate and then an extra sprue is included - what's the point? Nostalgia 'cuz the old toys had one? Waste of money IMO.

The ideal way would be a sprue-like tray with pegs and little holes on the accessories themselves so you could store the ones u don’t need on them - a simple weapons rack of sorts. But I really don’t see that happening.

All that being said, if the sprues are not an immediate deal breaker then this line looks very interesting. The alternate head on Raphael especially looks very promising.

Yeah I may end up picking and choosing ones I want if they are going that route with the weapons, like just getting the Baxter Stockman figure from the first wave and passing on the rest, to add a few extra characters to the superior versions NECA is offering.

It's all gonna come down to price range for me. Anything more than 30 bucks and I'll most likely have to pass on these. With so many other offerings out there, I honestly couldn't afford to support another line of figures above that price range...outside of a couple of the supporting characters.

Wingnut and Screwloose, Walkabout, Dirtbag, Triceraton and a fully upright Leatherhead based on the original toy are highly desired though...as these were some of my favorites as a kid.

Bryan Flynn stated in his video interview with Pixel Dan at Power Con last month that these and all other figure lines in the future will be $45 each (just like the new Thundercats line) since they'll all be "ultimate" versions now with a lot more accessories per figure and usually extra headsculpts. Even before the price bump, they were pricing MOTUC figures at $35 each, so there was no way we'd ever get any from Super 7 for $30.

I remember either 4 Horsemen or Super7 acknowledged the sprue marks would be an issue since they intend to paint the accessories and once removed the sprue would leave an unpainted spot on each part. They acknowledged that the mark left behind was not something they had thought about, but did not propose a solution at that time.

The easy solution is to NOT put them on sprues. We don't need them. Just package the weapons/accessories individually in the packaging like any other action figure.

If it's anything to go by, there's almost no way these won't be less than $40, and more like $45. I'm definitely down for Baxter, and I may get Raph and then decide if I even like the Turtles.

Idk if I'd call Neca's superior. I bought the Sdcc cartoon turtles, at the scalpers price, and had two figures who's legs snapped. I ended up buying a second one and left them alone out of fear they too would break as a lot of Neca stuff tends to do. Even their Target exclusives or "elusives" as I call them I had to buy at a mark up, so being available to everyone without fear of being scalped seems superior by itself.

I'm not sure if I want to get into the NECA discussion considering that I know people around here love them, but their products are not an option for me anymore. I bought a handful of their releases over the last year and every single one was awful. Gorgeous sculpts ruined by terrible paint apps, ridiculous QC issues (I received a headless figure in a window box), broken parts, all accompanied by the lovely smell of an entire chemical plant.

I’m done with NECA, permanently. Their Turtles-stuff is available readily around here but I just can't bring myself to get them. Now, Super7 has their own fair share of issues, but I'm more willing to give them a chance, even though their figures are much pricier. It also helps that I like the aesthetic of these Super7 ones more, they look great.

But again, if they can’t figure out that collectors don’t want to cut accessories of a sprue with this kind of release then it's all for nothing anyways.

I'm with you, man. Every company has QC issues, I work in a lab doing QC and there is no escaping it. But even though Super 7 has had it's fair share of issues they really aren't ever things like limbs snapping off which Neca has had that issue too often.

I'm just happy we are finally getting Turtles and am not gonna nit-pick. As for the weapons, I think Super 7 would have been screwed no matter what. I don't mind little sprew marks. The character will be holding the weapons anyways. Once again I'm just very very very happy.

Hmmmm... So much discussion on the weapons, but people seem to forget that super7 has a tendency to not give you what they offer in prototypes(there is always some weird excuse for the factory, materials, paint, whatever...) and I honestly had it with that, specially for their prices.

Love the Raphael, but the rest of these are a pass. I’ll collect the 4 turtles, but I’ll be choosey with the side characters. Surprised they only gave Raph an extra head sculpt. If they did that with every character, I’d be more interested. At $45 a piece plus shipping, you may as well buy the vintage ones. Also, the weapons rack is silly. Just scrap it. If we’re paying extra for accessories that need to be cut, something is majorly wrong!
I get some of the NECA complaints regarding the 1st wave of NECA Toon Turtles, but the 1990 movie figures they made are incredible! Beautiful paint apps, good articulation, haven’t really heard any nitpicks or complaints. With the next toon wave coming to Target, and even at retailers overseas, NECA’s availability and pricepoint is going to be hard to compete with. By the time these Super7 TMNT figures release, NECA will probably be on wave 3 of Toon, and maybe wave 3 of 1990.

I'll definitely agree with you on that. Those are the only Neca figures I have had that have zero issues. It's still a shame though, they have great sculps but other than the movie turtles everything else I have ever gotten from them has ended up in the trash or I just leave in the package.

    You're like, in my head.

After numerous problems over the years with NECA myself, I'm finally at the point where I simply won't buy their products any more. (Still love ya, Randy.) I tend to collect so much stuff though, that cutting them out entirely makes things a bit simpler for me. (And Super7's offerings are more up my alley aesthetic-wise, which doesn't hurt.) I'll be cherry picking due to space and cost concerns, but that's okay. These figure look great, and I'm already drawing up plans for a miniature dojo set-up with Splinter...

That's not how Super7 preorders work at all. They basically make to order. I'm not sure if it'll be for these, but some have been the same price at BBTS so you can order and not pay up front.
