DC COLLECTIBLES ENTERS THE NEW DECADE BY RETURNING TO THE NAME ON WHICH IT WAS FOUNDED, DC DIRECT

Striking New Line-Up of Toys and Collector Items to be Displayed at New York Toy Fair

BURBANK, CA (February 20, 2020) – DC Collectibles, known for its iconic lines of collectibles, statues and action figures, directly from the source, is returning to the name on which it was founded, DC Direct. The move to rename reaffirms DC Direct’s commitment to source DC material and validates the authenticity of being truly “from the source”.

“Returning to the name DC Direct just makes sense,” said Jim Fletcher, Creative Director, DC Direct. “The name lets our fans know that we have unparalleled and direct access to DC editorial and the industry’s premier talent, which in turn allows us to create an extensive offering of unique and high-end product lines that are truly authentic to DC.”

During New York Toy Fair, DC Direct will display its striking new 2020 action figures and statues in its booth. This year’s lineup will feature an all-new statue line based on the The Joker, a revamped Artist Alley line, and additions to expand its best-selling action figure and statue lines including DC Essentials, Batman Black & White,Harley Quinn Red, White & Black,DC Designer Series, DC Bombshells, and more.

With the success of the Batman Black & White and Harley Quinn Red, White & Black statue series lines it is only fitting that The Joker get his own statue line to be based on the iconic images of the Super-Villain from the DC Comics pages. The series will appropriately be named The Joker Clown Prince of Crime. Fans and collectors won’t want to miss the inaugural figure in the series based on an iconic comic image of The Joker by Brian Bolland. This piece really emphasizes the drama and the mania that makes The Joker one of the best foes of all time. Following Bolland, will be statues by Jim Lee with a classic comic Joker design that really portrays how creepy the jokester is with oversized features such as hands and feet and Lee Bermejo, perhaps one of the most popular comic illustrators associated with The Joker. Bermejo has designed a statue that will look amazing on any shelf as its displayed in hues of purple and green.

The highly collectable DC Artists Alley line will also undergo a revamping, fans will notice more premium format designs and figures. First out of the gate, The Joker by Brandt Peters. Peters uses his design talents to bring The Joker to life by combining his antique, Victorian style for a truly unique take on the villain. Additional artists joining the DC Artists Alley line include, Brittney Lee, a popular artist who used her talent in paper-craft-style art to create a new take on the famous villainess Catwoman, Patrick Ballesteros, who uses childlike nostalgia and imagination, to bring one back to their younger years will provide his take on the Bat Family including Deathstroke and Robin, and Zach Heffelfinger will provide his take on the Dark Knight. As a character designer for Nickelodeon on SpongeBob SquarePants, Heffelfinger brings about a sense of nostalgia with his stylistic art.

Additional statues and figures debuting at the show include Deadshot, the last character in the Batman Rogues Gallery Multi-Part Statue; A DC Bombshells: Poison Ivy Holiday Variant; new Batman Black & White and Harley Quinn Red, White & Black statues and DC Essentials and Batman The Adventures Continue action figures.

The hell is going on with that Poison Ivy statue? She's got green legs so I thought they were tights, but she also has individually sculpted toes?

I really hope they are holding back some reveals. It will be pretty disappointing if they only have 4 new figures and a repainted six pack to show.

This company is hilarious. They think changing the name of an underperforming film will work and now they think changing the name of their collectible company back to the old one will make everyone forget they're just a repaint factory that only makes Batman merchandise.

    What stupidity.

Dude, it's DC COLLECTIBLES. Sorry, DIRECT. Do you seriously expect anything less that statues and repacks?

Relax man, they just make toys, no need to get so emotional.

I'm hoping it's just the photo, but WWs waist and torso look really badly proportioned, like they put 7" scale arms and legs onto a 6" scale torso

I gotta love their announcement for their entire lineup under the Direct name again. Batman, Batman, lots more of Batman, Joker stuff, Harley stuff, more Batman, some zombie Batman stuff, a couple Superman items, and then a few non-Batman figures that seem to be an afterthought.

If u want new stuff go to McFarlane or get old Mattel stuff. DC Direct seems to just do more statues, and artistic style things and figures. Also, DC Direct has nothing to do with the Harley Quinn movie. Two separate divisions. The Batman merchandise obviously sells, do u want them to make stuff nobody wants. I'm enjoying it. DC Direct has never had highly articulated action figures. If they wanted to do that they would never have had a deal with McFarlane

    Honestly what the fuck?

You take a break from new DC Essentials characters after just four waves and come back with... nothing? We've seen all the DCeased characters before, we've seen the new wave before, and this repaint pack is just... a repaint pack?

Why do I fucking bother with this company, I used to adore it more than anything. Remember the Arkham figures? I seriously doubt they'll release something of that quality again, though they're welcome to prove me wrong when the next Arkham game comes out.

Once they changed their name to DC Collectibles they actually had many fully articulated lines. The later Arkham game series figures, Icons, and Essentials lines are well articulated just to name a few examples.

Smart move for them to go back to the DC Direct name. I’m sure it was confusing as hell for people googling and checking EBay for DC Collectibles. It would easily double your results for unrelated things.

Says the guy who's criticizing the proportions on them. They're just toys man, no need to get nitpicky.

I realize this may be a great shock to people, but all I did was make a comment before going to bed. I didn't punch a hole in the wall, didn't take it out on my wife, and it's not going to ruin my day today. Stop reading into things.

I was waiting for this one. DC Whatever They're Called Today and DC Films are both subsidiaries of a parent company (which was "the company" I was referring to, funny how everyone else but you figured that out) that has no f****** clue how to handle these properties. It's not illogical to assume the same stupid business practices trickle down to other divisions.

As for the rest of this:

    1. McFarlane has proven in one wave they're just as bad. This might come as a shock to you, but as a DC fan, I actually own several Batman figures already.

    2. Buying old Mattel figures off the Internet is not a particularly ingenious way to financially support a brand.

    3. DC wouldn't have a problem selling other figures if they actually tried getting other characters over. Aquaman is the highest grossing film of all time based on a DC Comics character, one would think that'd be a good place to start.

    4. Your rant about articulation has absolutely zero to do with anything I said, and as another commenter pointed out, is false. So I think it’s fair to say you have no idea what you’re talking about. What a surprise.

    5. You can spell "merchandise" but can't spell "you". Wish I had noticed that earlier, wouldn't have wasted time on this.

If u were waiting for this one and waiting for an argument then it's pretty sad and pathetic. Your not some genius either. The companies are two seperate divisions. One makes toys/statues the other makes movies. DC Direct does not make movies. If u knew there would be some BS why did u post something. I will always write U, for you. I know more than u would ever know about anything. If u can run the company better, then perhaps u should try then instead of wasting your time arguing with some stranger on this forum. These comments are the most disgusting and childish comments I have read and its people like u that make the internet crappy. U seem like a person, that when life gets u down, u do absolutely nothing to make things better for yourself. All the anger and frustration u have should be gone and u need to calm down, then gather yourself and write a letter to the company,so that they can actually do something. I can't help u.These are just pieces of plastic if u didn't know. It's not the end of the world

The point is people want more than just Batman merchandise. I have never seen a company so embarassed by their own history and universe the way I do with DC.

If DC solely wants Batman, then they should sell off the rest of their characters to Marvel so that Hasbro can give us a decent Flash line.

I was hoping they would expand to Superman TAS and then JLU... instead, they are making animated versions of characters I doubt anyone interested in the classic cartoon cares about like this edgy reboot universe evil Joker/Batman hybrid in BDSM gear.

Dan Didiot has left DC, so maybe we can get some decent products and stuff for once.

Not really interested in anything here, but I came to say that the return of the DC Direct name is freaking awesome!!! I thought they were dead forever!

kinda bummed to see the DC Essentials line will essentially be DCeased repaints this year. Was really hoping for that rumored Poison Ivy...
