NECA has released final in-packaging photos for their soon to be released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time Wave 1 Figures. This assortment is inspired by the fan favorite Turtles In Time video game for the arcades and SNES. Each figure includes a pixelated paint deco, and they come in specialized window boxes featuring images from the arcade cabinet. Wave 1 includes Leonardo, Donatello, Slash, and a Foot Soldier. Each includes their own accessories. The figures ship out to retailers next month. Check out the photos after the jump.
Following up on our first arcade game-based TMNT figures, we turn to the second Turtles game!
From the classic 1990s Turtles in Time video game, we’re excited to offer a new line-up of 7” scale action figures. Series 1 includes Donatello, Leonardo, Slash, and a Foot Soldier. Donatello, Leonardo and Foot Soldier come with signature weapons and a brand new hoverboard with display stand that can be used for even more poses. The evil mutant turtle Slash comes with sword accessory.
All feature special deco that recreates the pixilated look of the video game and come in individual window boxes with graphics from the original arcade cabinet.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles In Time Preview by NECA

So why doesn't playmates have a stranglehold on TMNT anymore? I'm not complaining, but it seems weird to me...
Also, look at how the expansion has been slowly building, and where the NECA Turtles stuff is being sold. GameStop, where there's no Playmates presence, Target, but not in the toy aisle, and "specialty stores", where Playmates will likely not have any product. So Playmates is likely not seeing the kids market for their stuff effected much by the collector level stuff.
Hard to tell from promotional shots, but do the Turtles and Foot Soldiers have any significant changes from the original Arcade figures that were released?
I was disappointed when the animated version of Slash was shown off, as even as a kid, I wasn't crazy about the changes they made from the toy to the show.
That said, I think it's pretty spectacular that even with the digi-print on the game version, he looks like he could fit right in with the animated figures with very little to no modifications needed.
I really hope NECA shows off a Metalhead at some point. He was one of my favorite bosses in Turtles in Time.

Makes sense to re-release the arcade turtles if they are going to start another line.
Ill continue with the Movie and cartoon line. Its still cool to look at these in pictures though.
Anyone knows if Target will keep the weird "in store" purchase only policy?
So they are doing figures from both the home and arcade Turtles in Time? Slash wasn’t in the arcade. It was “Mud Man” and Shredder with a mutating lightsaber was replaced by Super Shredder with a mutating hadoken.
Hopefully they do pirates Bebop and Rocksteady. Those two were hilarious.

These are available to purchase on BBTS right now.
I wish the toon line was at specialty shops so we had easier access to them. Seems crazy that the ones at the major retailer are harder to get than the ones available at specialty shops.

BBTS just put Slash and the Foot Soldier up for individual sale now also.

So are these going to be exclusive to anyone? Weird that the video game ones seem to be the only ones you can get anywhere.
Other than the hover boards, are Leo and Don any different from the versions in the SDCC 2016 arcade set?
They really changed the Foot Soldier from the first solicit pics. I was hoping to not have to go back and track down the SDCC set on the secondary, since I wasn't buying TMNT at that point. But, the OCD in me needs to have EVERY version. Dangit.
neato! love this line!

Dang. Was just on the edge of selling off the arcade turtles... guess that ship has... sailed. lol. At least I'll be able to grab another digi-ninja.
I'm still wondering how the foot and turtles are staying on the boards.
I don't see any pegs or they glued them on.
