New Avatar: The Last Airbender and Marvel Items In Stores by DST
This is great and all, but I'm still waiting on those Pulp Fiction series 2 figures. Is that line officially dead? I mean, I'm sure it is, but I don't recall ever hearing official word.
Been seeing the Avatar figures around but what I'm really waiting on (that keeps getting pushed back) are the two Black Hole sets. I need my Maximilian!!!
Jeez, are those Castlevania figures ever coming out? They were announced and shown at least a few months before we ever heard of the Avatar ones.
I, against all reason, hope DST does other Nickelodeon properties... like Danny Phantom.
So, I already bought all three Avatar figures at a local Walgreens and they didn’t come with any of the accessories (Momo, water streak, fireball etc) WTF. Now They’re claiming to release them again with better accessories. My Aang also has a somewhat angry face and this Aang seems to have a more curious expression.
I emailed them. I’ll let you know what their response is.
That's just how DST does it- they've been doing it for years. They do a basic retail release for about $15 and then a deluxe with extra stuff for $25 or so.... usually the Deluxe is a specialty shop item like a comic store or something (use to be Toysrus had the Deluxe)
Yep. Here’s the official reply:
The figures solicited in advance were the deluxe versions with accessories, which are shipping now. Those have been up for pre-order since the fall. The basic versions shipped to Walgreens were never offered for pre-order, and were always intended to have fewer accessories, hence the much lower retail price.
However, the accessories included with the Walgreens figures ARE unique to those figures, and are not available with the deluxe figures. Additionally, the Walgreens Aang figure has an exclusive angry head sculpt.
I hope this answers your question.
Those accessories really improve the ATLA figures, I desperately hope the wave has performed well enough to justify more. The line NEEDS Toph, Sokka and Azula at the very least. I dream of a 6 scale Appa, too
So what's the retail price on the "Deluxe" versions?
Anyone know where to get the Deluxe versions? None of the 3 local comic shops near me ordered them.
And Gamestop apparently will only be carrying the Walgreens versions.
