It may not be THEE Force Friday, but today we are having our own little Force Friday with a look at Star Wars Black Series Wave 22 (Rise of Skywalker Wave 1). These are the main line figures released earlier in the month which feature initial figures for Episode IX The Rise of Skywalker, The Mandalorian and Jedi Fallen Order. The wave consists of Kylo Ren, Rey & D-O, Sith Trooper, First Order Trooper (with shield and energy weapon), The Mandalorian, Offworld Jawa, Cal Kestis and Second Sister Inquisitor.
All of these were also released day one in white packaging celebrating the first release. Otherwise, figures are the same. The Sith Trooper, Mandalorian, Second Sister and First Order Jet Trooper (not in this wave) also had Carbonized versions with different paint apps and a shiny glaze on them in a gold reflective box.
We’ve run all 8 through the motions today courtesy of Dorkside Toys. Read on to check out over 160 images and some quick thoughts after the break!

Quick Thoughts:
Kylo is solid. Stance is good. Raised hood is doofy looking, but the down hood and plastic cape is well done.
Rey’s face is way more actress accurate in person than product shots. Not dead on from all angles, but you do catch Daisy Ridley likeness in certain shots.
Sith Trooper is better in hand than expected, I skipped previous early releases. Sharper cut, less bulbous than the FO Troopers.
FO Troopers – same deal as before. Now has energy weapon and shield that were previously exclusives. These guys do not excite me at all. Tr8or!
Mandalorian, very cool. Carbonized is also cool if you can find him, paint apps are significantly different along with glaze.
Offworld Jawa – never say no to more Jawas, and the alt colors are nice touch. The articulated legs and soft goods are cool, but I would have been completely fine with the original version in these colors.
Second Sister – clean cut, great looking evil fig. No personal connection to game yet, but good for fanfic level bad guy troop displays.
Cal Kestis – Lots of cuts and paint, his droid is well done. The game model, and this version of him, a tad generic for me, so not hyped on him. Yet.
Overall a solid wave, something for everyone. I found myself digging Kylo and Second Sister the most when posing out for these shots. Half the wave will require me to get into the alternate media it’s from and dig it to want to keep them out on display long term.
