Only the box artist of the original line is doing some art for the line, nothing from the brand itself. You want military weapons on your BOM, you gotta 3D print it yourself.

The raptors are insanely articulated. Even the tongues have articulation!

Think I’m jumping on these. Really beautiful. I’m leaning towards the full set for $180.

I don’t see a few that are pictured here in the Kickstarter. The one with the horn pointing down is a glaring one. I hope that one is a stretch goal.

There are like 20 stretch goals, including an almost 20in 1/18 scale adult triceratops! That is huge! That will hopefully be the crown jewel of my dinosaur collection. Sure, Rexes kickstart in 2021, but there have been tons of trex toys. Quality trikes are few and far between!

I sincerely hope those were the actual colors of the creatures themselves.

    fascinating.

Seriously - the colors on these are gorgeous. I especially like the black pattern on the Triceratops and the reddish-orange on the Styracosaurus.

If Kickstarter would let me I would support this immediately, but without a credit card I'll have to wait until the project is funded and then pre-order a figure... bummer.

The raptors were colored based on actual birds (mostly birds of prey), however the ceratopsians are all based on actual lizards, from geckos to monitor lizards.

As for skin color, there have been very few hints to actual dinosaur colors, other than the fossilization of mummified dinosaur skin on an ankylosaur. While it didn't give an exact hue or color, it did heavily hint a spectrum of red-browns on top, with a lighter color tummy. The pigment cells, fossilized, had properties similar to modern animals with that pigment.

Raptors are small enough that their garish colors are plausible, but lizards are such a different scale than ceratopsian dinos that the colors make less sense. They should probably be more muted, perhaps with brighter displays on the shield. That does not, however, mean these designs aren't incredibly cool.

Hard to say what is "natural" or not... genetically, dinosaurs have more in common with birds than lizards, and birds are notoriously colorful. Also, with most of the ceratopsians, the patterns are good camouflage. Large animals today use colorful camouflage. Zebras. Big cats. Also, There was recently a dinosaur find that included skin, not just imprints. Within the skin was mummified pigment cells that have maintained their color structure, showing the dinosaur was a rust color (exact color unknown) on top and a white or cream color below. Their pigment cells are very similar to those found in bird feathers. So it's really hard to say "This is unnatural".

It's also a huge relief to finally have something that's not a bland rhinoceros grey. You are right 100% about one thing... these are incredibly cool! I'm glad I've been a backer of both kickstarter campaigns.
