We received a new press release from the folks at Creative Beast Studio. They are teaming up with Ezra Tucker, the artist for the classic Dino-Riders toy line from the late 1980’s. He is going to create the new package art for their Monoclonius horned dinosaur action figure! The figure will be part of their second line of figures, which are based on the ceratopsian “horned” dinosaurs. The new figure is actually based on one of the classic figures from the toy line.
Look for the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series Kickstarter, which starts on September 17th, 2019. Check out the full press release and images after the jump.
Creative Beast Studio Reveals Collaboration with Award-Winning Tyco Dino-Riders Artist on New Dinosaur Action Figure Package Art
Ezra Tucker, Internationally-Renowned Wildlife Artist, Created Monoclonius Packaging Inspired by His Iconic Dino-Riders Work
HACKENSACK, NJ – September 10, 2019 — Creative Beast Studio today revealed package art from its collaboration with award-winning wildlife artist Ezra Tucker for its upcoming “Beasts of the Mesozoic” Monoclonius crassus action figure. As one of the original artists behind the stunning Tyco Dino Riders package art image, Ezra’s participation in the “Beasts of the Mesozoic” line of dinosaur action figures was especially significant to Creative Beast Studio owner David Silva, who counts Ezra’s work among his biggest influences as a child.
In one week, Creative Beast Studio launches a new Kickstarter campaign to support its second series of “Beasts of the Mesozoic” dinosaur action figures. Focusing on the “horned” ceratopsian dinosaurs this time around, the 1/18th scale figures will feature multiple points of articulation and vivid coloration. Only those pledging to the Kickstarter campaign can secure the exclusive Monoclonius crassus figure complete with vintage-inspired package art depicting the stampeding creature. Ezra’s new work will also be available during the 30-day campaign as an 11×17 signed print limited to only 100 copies.
For this exclusive offering, David painted Monoclonius with the same colors used on the original version of the Dino-Riders figure as an homage to the beloved 80s toy line.
“Working with Ezra was a great honor and I’m so grateful that he participated in the ‘Beasts of the Mesozoic’ journey. His original Dino-Riders scene is one of the most impressive works I’ve seen for a toy line, seamlessly combining fine art with pop culture. It’s amazing to think that the artist who worked on one of the toy lines that influenced me the most has now created an art piece for my own line of toys,” said David. “On a personal note, Ezra was a wonderful collaborator. Not only is his new Monoclonius piece kinetic and dramatic, but it also really brings you back to a time when pre-history and fantasy felt like one and the same. I know many dinosaur fans will appreciate once again being transported to the fantastic prehistoric landscape in the spirit of the 1980s.”
“It is a pleasure to be asked to help bring to life an educational and fun concept with my painting of Monoclonius,” added Ezra. “The detail that is apparent in the sculpting of this dinosaur is authentic and well researched.”
The Monoclonius crassus action figure will be offered as part of the Beasts of the Mesozoic: Ceratopsian Series Kickstarter, set to begin on September 17th, 2019.
