It was a busy weekend – Power Con, TFNation in the UK for Transformers, Shanghai expo, NJCC on the East Coast, and Expo Lucha in San Diego. The last one featured the reveal of Boss Fight Studios Legends of Lucha Libre line of wresting figures, which is 1/12(ish) scale! This is a partnership with Masked Republic for their brand of Mexican style wrestling, featuring their superstars. The figures will be 6.5 inch and come window boxed with tons of accessories. They had promotional images for Wave 1 which will feature Rey Fenix and Penta Zero M. Both will be 6.5 inch scale, super articulated, have multiple prop accessories each, interchangeable hands and heads, flexible elbow pads and a window box. Due out in Summer 2020.
They also had material clarifying figures for Konnan, Lady Maravilla will be wave 2, and Tinieblas Jr. and Laredo Kid are wave 3.
In addition to the figures, they also have in-scale accessory kits coming. Included were sets featuring additional heads/masks, chairs, cinder blocks, sticks, chains, collars, barbed wire, bats, fluorescent light tubes, break away tables, and more. Those can EASILY be used for other 6 inch lines as props, so also exciting there.
Now, these look great and we hope the line does well, but what is most exciting is that Boss Fight Studios have officially jumped into the 1/12(ish) 6 inch(ish) scale game. Hopefully this means more figures with different themes in this scale can come to light down the road.
On display were also 3 inch super deformed figures (think boxed vinyl) and 3 inch bust line with masks. Both will be counter top box style with variants.
Read on to check out all the details in their promotional slides, along with a look at their first 6 inch figure prototype Rey Fenix!
