Halloween 2 Michael Myers Packaging 004

NECA has shared final in-packaging images for the upcoming Halloween II – Michael Myers Ultimate 7″ Scale Figure. The figure includes a pumpkin that can open to show a skull inside, a hammer, a knife and a syringe. The figure also includes three interchangeable portraits. The two main ones are a standard portrait, a bloody eyes portrait. The third is based on the brief appearance of a character named Ben Tramer, who is mistaken for Michael and killed in a fiery car crash. The figure will begin shipping to retailers in September. Check out the final packaging photos after the jump.

Due to popular demand, NECA delves into the classic Halloween movies! Based on his appearance in 1981’s Halloween 2, Michael stands over 7″ tall and has received the Ultimate treatment, with over 25 points of articulation and tons of accessories. The figure comes with 3 heads, syringe, knife, hammer, and opening jack o’ lantern. Comes in display-friendly deluxe window box packaging with opening flap.

So wait...NECA doesn't have the license/can't make a Halloween 1 Myers, but they can do a Halloween 2 version? Are there different rights holders for the two movies?

"Due to popular demand, NECA delves into the classic Halloween movies!"

This right here makes me think we'll get a Halloween 1 Michael eventually, maybe they're just doing the others first so they sell through better? I know if I was just a casual horror fan and had the choice I'd just get the Halloween 1 Michael. My complaint is that every Myers they've done (besides the 2018 version) has his hair poking out from the back on both sides, reminds me of a little Dutch boy and doesn't look right to the minds eye.

According to Neca's Twitter, 2 and 3 are the only older films they can do. Universal apparently holds the rights to those films along with the new one.

Anchor Bay holds the rights for 1, 4, and 5.

Universal holds the rights for 2, 3, and 2018.

Miramax owns 6, H20, and Res.

Weinstein has the rights for the two Zombie films.

I'd be totally fine if they just made a bunch of Halloween 3 figures. That's one of the most underrated horror flicks ever.

Ehh close enough. No need for H1 if they can get H2. I'm a huge fan and can barely tell the difference. Loving the pumpkin/skull touch, wonderful reference to the movie poster and intro sequence. I can hear the music now...

I love Halloween 3. When I first got into the series in 2013 everyone was telling me H3 was atrocious and it ended up being my second favorite of the franchise since it did something different. Not to mention the sountrack is amazing and the concept is great even if the entire plot is foiled by time zones.

Oh there is a HUGE difference in the Michael mask between the original and II. However, if II is the best they can do for a Classic Michael, I guess that is fine.

I knew there was something I liked about you.

Yeah, I've never been a huge Halloween fan (aside from the first movie), but I've always had a thing for Halloween 3. It's so absolutely twisted and weird and doesn't try to completely explain what's going on, which can be pretty creepy.

Also, Tom Atkins' acting is supremely underrated in this movie. No one does "absolutely sickened to their stomach with horror" like Atkins does during the scenes when the kid's head melts into a pile of bugs and snakes or when he punches through the chest of the android and pulls out a hand full of disgusting yellow goo. His reaction to these horrible things is so damn realistic and it really helps to sell the fact that something bizarre and sick was going on.

And yeah, the time zone thing is a pretty major plot hole. The guys at Silver Shamrock really didn't think that one out, lol.

You're absolutely right. The two masks are vastly different and I've always thought that Myers looked a little goofy/less menacing in H2 because of it.

It also didn't help that Dick Warlock was a noticeably smaller dude than Nick Castle.

I've only seen Tom Atkins in Halloween 3, Creepshow, The Fog, and Escape from New York, but I did think he was great in all of those. My only issue is how they force him to sleep with women for the sake of it. He doesn't even know the age of the granddaughter in H3 and then he knows nothing about Curtis' character in The Fog, even asking her her name while they are in bed.

Of course, I also like to make this fanfic connection between The Fog, Halloween, and Halloween III.

Basically, Dr Challis is so distraught over the death of his kids thanks to Silver Shamrock that he moves to Antonio Bay and changes his name. The hitchiker he picks up years after living there is actually an on the run Laurie Strode, trying to get away from Michael's presence and not knowing what she wants to do.

The Halloween I and II masks are the same. What makes it look so different is that Warlock had a wider head so it filled out the mask allot more than Nick Castle. That's why the eyes seem stretched wider and the mask is allot more snug on the actors head. This information came from both Warlock and Carpenter.

Not true. The mask did fit differently on Warlock but it was also improperly stored and damaged by cigarette smoke, plus the white neck paint was peeling off and the hairs paint was coming off due to the way Warlock removed it between takes.

Um....yeah. That whole part of the movie is WAAAAY creepy, especially considering that Atkins was 47 and the woman was 23(!).

Also, a funny running gag is the fact that Atkins' character was totally an alcoholic. The granddaughter finds him in an otherwise-empty bar (during the daytime, no less), he needs a 6-pack for the road, he sneaks out during curfew to get a bottle of booze...the dude is drinking non-stop.

Shitty dad, too. Who gives their kids dollar-store Halloween masks in brown paper bags?

    No they're not.

I've watched every documentary on my Shout! Factory box set and they talk about how they had to make an entirely new mask for every movie.

I've heard/read the story a thousand times, it really is the same mask. One of the reasons it looks different is it had been lying under Debra Hill's bed for three years and deteriorated during that time.

The masks are different starting with Halloween 4, and very clearly so. The only time any mask gets reused is when they used the Halloween 6 mask in a couple of scenes of H20.

I'm okay with it since it doesn't hinder the leg articulation.
