In the Fallout video game series, a dog appears as a recurring companion, sidekick or cameo. Known as Dogmeat, the non-playbale character often acted as a defender or even a scavenger (depending on which game), and is generally regarded as a fan favorite part of the games. To commemorate the character, Chronicle Collectibles has released a Dogmeat 1/6 Scale Statue! Dogmeat measures at 9″ from head-to-tail, and stands about 7″ tall atop a themed base. It includes two interchangeable portraits; one with armor, and one without. The statue is available via GameStop stores. You can also grab itdirectly from Chronicle Collectibles at a discounted price pf just $23.99!

Overall
The Dogmeat statue is packed in a small windowless box, which features artwork from the original Fallout game. The statue sits in a plastic clamshell tray, with some protective lining to keep the paint from wearing. No initial assembly is required, and Dogmeat is ready for display right out o the box. An armored and unarmored head sculpts are included.
While I’ve never gotten into the Fallout series, it was easy to see how big a part of the games Dogmeat was (especially the original and part 3). The dog seems like a big fan favorite, and the statue quickly sold out from GameStop’s website. Looking at it from the viewpoint of someone with just casual knowledge of the game, I can still appreciate what Chronicle has accomplished here. The sculpt, which uses assets directly from Bethesda, is great. The fur has a nice flow to it without being overly textured. That plays nicely against the armored pieces, which have a great worn metal look to them. The statue base, themed after a concrete road, provides a solid foundation for the statue.
The two heads swap out with no trouble. They sit on a specialized peg that holds the pieces in place tightly. The head separate at the collar, which hides the seam perfectly. The statue has a nice bit of weight to it, and none of the pieces feel brittle, even on areas like the ears. The paint work here is handled well, with nice transitions in the fur color, and sharp lines where needed. The armored pieces have a great metallic finish as well.
Dogmeat makes a nice addition to a 1/6 scale collection, and works nicely with non-Fallout figures and statues. I imagine the statue will work especially well with ThreeZero’s Fallout Power Armor Figures. The price point, especially at the sale price, is hard to argue with. If you’re a fan of the game, and remember your playing time with Dogmeat fondly, then this is an easy statue to recommend. Check out some select images below, and the full photo shoot after that.
