At Blizzcon Hasbro has shared the first look at their upcoming Overwatch 6" figure line. First up is Mercy:

Apparently the line will be called Overwatch Ultimates and it's due out next Spring (I saw April 22).

I'd buy a Tracer but that'd probably be it for me haha

Finally. Now i dont have to get figma figures they add up in a hurry. Wonder if they go a marvel legends style with a BaF or like star wars black.

I'm positive with Tracer still being the game's main mascot type character that she'll be an early pick for the line. I got the Figma Tracer at the beginning of the year because at that time that was the only known option and while it's a great quality figure it's still an import item with that heavy price tag for such a small item. Given her small stature in game I'm imagining though that it'll still scale fine with Hasbro's 6" line. Had I known back then that Hasbro would get the license I may have held off, that will be the only Figma one I ever get though since this Hasbro line was revealed.

I'd really hope for just separate deluxe releases because there's only like 5 characters big enough to be BAF worthy and even then some of them (like D.Va's MEKA) are probably too big to be included across other releases. I just don't see how they could make that a gimmick that would last with the line.

Id guess deluxe figures would be the way to go too. With only 28ish characters giving away a figure as a bfa makes the roster go by pretty fast.

They're probably gonna be doing lots of repaints (and some remolds) for different skins for different characters to pad out the line, so that would become less of a problem.

Yeah, I'm really stoked that I can get these characters without having to pay unreasonably fucked up Figma prices.
I hope Hasbro makes a fortune off this line and sustains it for a long while.

I really want this to do well. I don't wanna pay $80 for the Figma Reaper...as nice as he looks.

Im sure theyll do reskins and some of them are cool in the game. Im not sure how well recolors will really sell though. Compared to marvel and star wars this is a very small roster.

I hope the line is successful enough for characters to get alternate legendary skin versions... I really want an Ecopoint Mei.

This to me is one of the real strong points the Hasbro line can have over Figma. With the smaller character pool Hasbro could finish every hero in their main skins pretty early in the line which then opens the door for them to all the different epic/legendary skins they want, sort of like how we get those revisited characters in Marvel Legends but in their different costumes.

I've been looking forward to Overwatch figures since the game came out. Then the Figmas came along and I realized I did not want to pay the price for those. Took a while but I'm thrilled Hasbro has the license.

I wonder if the price point will be the same as Marvel Legends and Star Wars Black Series. I think I'd be ok with them being $25+ if it meant the parts count and paint apps were higher and there were an appropriate amount of accessories. Hasbro can't really cheat with these figures. Can't just paint on details like they do with Legends. As for accessories, not just weapons but maybe a stand, power effects, diorama piece(s), etc. I think I'd also be ok with higher priced bigger figures. Or even playset style releases, maybe a payload packed with 1 or 2 figures, backgrounds from the win screen, etc.

Tons of possibilities are there but it all depends on how well they sell.

I'm really impressed with the reveal. Looks great. I'm more curious about the articulation, is that a waist crunch I see? But still no double jointed elbows.

Zenyatta will probably be the only of the figmas I'll own, the knee articulation especially I don't think will look nearly as clean from hasbro. But this gives me the opportunity to get more of the roster. Pitty they won't fit with my NECA HotS, but maybe Hasbro will do that line eventually.

There damn well better be more than just two figures in the first wave. Besides, if Mercy is getting paired with anybody it's gotta be Pharah.
