In a new press release, Mattel has announced the extension of their DC Comics licensing agreement. The license covers items such as novelty items, girls toys (such as DC Super Hero Girls), vehicles, novelty items and games. This licenses does not include things such as action figures, which Mattel will no longer have the rights to at the end of 2019. In December 2018, it was announced that Spin Master would take over large portions of the DC Comics license beginning in 2020. Then in February, McFalrane Toys announced that they would be producing a mass retail line of DC Comics Action Figures geared towards collectors. Check out the official press release below.

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) today announced that it has extended its global licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and will continue to be the toy licensee for DC in the girls, preschool, vehicles, games and novelty toy categories. This agreement will support and grow existing DC Universe franchises as well as new content for “DC Super Hero Girls.”
