In a new magazine scan (likely the newest issue of Figure King), We finally get an update on the long in development Star Wars: Return of the Jedi – Boba Fett S.H. Figuarts. The images come via @TendouToys. Revealed back in May 2018, the Episode VI Boba Fett is set for release in September. The figure looks to include his blaster and some interchangeable hands. There may be additional accessories revealed when the Tamashii Nations product page goes live. The figure will be priced at 6,480 Yen (about $59 USD).
Also announced is a Tamashii Act Stage featuring the Star Wars logo and an articulated arm. This is due out in September as well. It will be priced at 1,944 Yen (about $17 USD).

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - Boba Fett S.H. Figuarts Details
That thing is going to have a hard time improving on the MAFEX ROTJ Boba Fett. That figure is pretty amazing.
I have the Mafex ESB Fett, but didn't get the RotJ version. Kind of glad they started with this one, so I've got an excuse to get it haha.
Official images here.
The MAFEX Boba's look like a real guy in a suit.
This Figuarts version looks like an action figure.

Releasing this Fett just feels kinda pointless after the kick-ass one MAFEX did.
Yeah I full expect this one not to be as good as the Mafex as far as looks go. The helmet looks a little too small also.
I can see from a consumer stand point why you might see it as pointless, but every line has to release a Vader/Fett/Stormtroopers etc. It's not like just because someone did it well, other companies aren't going to still release theirs.
wooooow, i'm surprised. so many in the mafex camp.
I totally disagree, I have the mafex and it's not that good to me.
I can't wait for the SHF version!!!!!!!!!!!
Those cables on the elbow have always been an issue for Boba Fett action figures--they're done in a way that either restricts arm movement or leads to breakage.
Mafex and Figuarts are going for different things. Mafex is going for screen accuracy, sacrificing sturdiness. Figuarts is going for a more playable action figure, sacrificing screen accuracy. I don't play with my figures, but I also want to be able to pose them without worrying about snapping things or pulling cables out of slots. Also, I prefer the way the Figuarts shoulder armor actually rotates with the shoulders, instead of just hanging off the torso. The way Bandai handled the design is ideal (for me, anyway).
I love the Jedi Boba Fett, but I passed on Mafex multiple times, even at discount prices, after watching the reviews.
