Batman Black and White Mini Statues Heading to Walmart Via Blind Bags

Posted on February 19, 2019 at 10:22 am by Tony_Bacala under DC Toy News, Toy Fair

DC Collectibles sent through word that their Batman Black and White mini statue line will be hitting Wal Mart via the bling bag method soon.  Read on to check all the details below.  We’ve also included a couple shots of the actual blind bags from our Toy Fair 2019 visit.

DC EXPANDS WALMART PROGRAM TO INCLUDE DC COLLECTIBLES

Fan-Favorite BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE Statue Line Now Available in New 4″ Scale

First Wave Includes Figures Designed by Acclaimed Artists Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke, Jason Fabok, Patrick Gleason, Frank Quitely and Dick Sprang

DC Collectibles, the award-winning line of collectibles, is bringing its acclaimed BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE statue line to Walmart stores as 4″ mini-figures. The new figures are direct transformations of the company’s acclaimed 9″-scale figures and feature designs from many world-renowned artists including Jim Lee, Bruce Timm, Amanda Conner, Darwyn Cooke and many more.

“BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE is DC Collectibles’ longest-running statue line and continues to be one of our best-sellers,” said Jim Fletcher, executive creative director at DC Collectibles. “The line allows us to work with a wide array of talented artists from different industries, and we’re really excited to revisit our favorite designs in this all-new 4″ scale!”

Walmart’s exclusive DC Collectibles program also offers something unique for fans: the thrill of chance. Fans purchasing these BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE figures at Walmart will find each in an exclusive, individual blind bag next to DC’s Comic Giants. DC Collectibles will release new figures every other month in waves of six, giving fans a wide selection and increasing the surprise factor for finding their favorite Batman characters.

I am very confused - those "DCAU" figures - are those actually based on episodes or just designed in the same style to fit in with the DCAU?

Good figures. But for the love of God, can they stop giving their caped figures stiff capes?

Seems like a missed opportunity to make statues and not figures of the Dark Nights.

The luchador Wonder Woman and Deathstroke are so neat and defiantly my favorites in this unique line (hopefully, they add more characters), might grab them or at least Wonder Woman.

DC Essentials just look awkward and static like Marvel Legends...sigh, I hope McFarlane would a better job, I still can't believe I'm actually saying that.

DC Prime..look another version of beloved character in additional unnecessary scale, when will this silly trend end?! Now it's plaguing adult collector toys too for crying out loud!

I believe it's based on unused concepts, but I'm not sure either.

Gray Ghost, Two-Face, Scarecrow and HARDAC are from BTAS. Red Hood, Deathstroke, Armored Batman and Azrael are inspired from the style of the animated series.

The latter is absolutely ridiculous if you consider that, between STAS, BB, and Justice League, there are at least a hundred characters just waiting to be produced.

That makes no sense since Marvel Legends IS how a comic book toy line should be done.

No, it isn't. It's the most overrated and over-hyped toyline ever. The hip articulation is pure rubbish, you have superheros who can only sit in 90 degree and barely move their legs backwards and can't do the splits nor high kick, not to mention the ridiculous amount of reused bucks, painted details instead of sculpted ones and minimal paint as well. The funny thing, is the old Toybiz which was groundbreaking at it's time, is still better than any newer Marvel Legends.

Same here... I don't recall Deathstroke, Azrael or Jason Todd ever appearing on Batman TAS or TNBA.
Unless they are planning a new animated Batman movie set in that universe for this year?
    They look good, frankly.

Designed to fit with. Though no clue if some had Batman TAS comic appearances. I know Red Hood at least didn't.

Maybe you guys can help me. Have the Jim Lee Designer Series Superman Statue..the recent one. Interested in setting a little Trinity display. I figure the Bermejo Batman shown here would go rather well...already have him on pre-order. You think with his crouching stance he would look weird next to Supes? Also, which Wonder Woman would you choose to go with those 2, the Designer Series or the Cover Girls version? Not sure how either would scale. Do like the colors on the Cover Girls more.

They'd kind of have to start from the ground up with Bane though, in TAS he was depicted as nothing more than an enforcer for hire and his only TNBA appearance was technically in a dream (but I love that episode).

It’s a good sign that they’re showing the next two waves of DC Essentials with release dates of spring and summer 2019. I was afraid that DCC wouldn’t show any DCE figures at NYTF and would quietly cancel them. While there is no guarantee that Essentials will continue in 2020, I would still like to get the figures that they’ve already announced. Right now, only Green Lantern is unaccounted for. If they don’t have anything else planned beyond Red Hood, maybe they’ll release those final two together.

Nothing on the DC Core statues. Glad I didn’t get Bats or Wondy...doesn’t work for me without Supes.

Actually...come to think of it...haven’t a single image of a Superman figure or statue pop up yet from any of these Toy Fair images. Disappointing for a Supes fan.

They really need to give the DC Essentials figures additional hands. And it’s unfortunate that in the animated line they released four key BTAS villains as an exclusive box set.

Is there a reason they're finally doing away with the terrible crotches of the Batman Animated figures? Or is this a different line completely?
