Some new photos have been released by NECA for their next Godzilla 12″ Head-To-Tail Figure. The next release will be based on Godzilla’s appearance in the 1962 version of King King vs Godzilla. The figure will be their first specialized packaging release in the line, with all prior figures sharing the same exact packaging design. The figure is scheduled for release some time this quarter. NECA continues to celebrate the most famous kaiju in the world in action figure form!
This version of the beloved monster is based on the 1962 movie King Kong vs. Godzilla. The figure measures 6″ tall and 12” long from head to tail. It features over 30 points of articulation, including an articulated tail!

how does dr. kain not have 30 pages of commentary on this yet?
Did he have red lipstick in the film?
Kidding aside, this doesn't look as off-model as some of their other entries in this line (at least to my untrained eyes). Maybe they're getting better at their attention to detail when it comes to this line?
It looks pretty good. I like how thick the tail is and the way the skin looks is well done. I hope they final product looks as good as that prototype.
Hopefully they have a Kong to go with that Godzilla.
Doesn't look 100% spot on but few figures do, plus this is an affordable way to get a good showa era Godzilla and not have to mess with the expensive Monsterarts stuff. My only gripe about this is that NECA is only doing Godzilla, I'd easily buy Mothra or King Ghidorah or any of the other Kaiju, even if they're not exactly in scale or pricier. I'll be getting this.
Yeah, NECA is now dealing with Toho directly instead of having to talk to WB, who would then report back to Toho, who would answer WB, who would then relay that answer back to NECA. lol
Because they are dealing with Toho direclty now, they have full access to their entire catalog including artwork.

Man this is good news, didn't know NECA is finally working directly with Toho, now I'm really freakin stoked for whatever comes next, even just random repaints and variants.
I'd be a bit more excited about that if their Godzilla line was a little more film accurate. In terms of screen-to-figure transitioning it's easily their weakest line.
That being said I'd really love to get a King Kong in the $20 price range.
Also, Rodan is my favorite kaiju, so I'd love a figure based on the classic look.

I’m pretty darn excited about this. I would expect to see this at TRU, but obviously not any more. Are there any other brick and mortar stores that would carry this?
this i like, classic look
I can't wait to get this.
This was my favorite version of Godzilla when I was a kid.
I had no idea NECA had access to more than just Godzilla now.
I'm super excited for more kaiju.
As goofy as Toho Kong is, I hope that NECA releases one.

New Photos for NECA's Godzilla Figure from King Kong vs Godzilla 1962 - The Toyark - News

Been collecting Godzilla figures my whole life and this thing is fantastic. The sculpt, paint, articulation, and even breath effect look great. Especially at this price point. It may not be the spot-on match of the Tamashii figures, but damn is it close.
Fingers crossed for more Showa era monsters. Would be sweet to get a Showa Ghidorah and Rodan. Would also love to see my personal favorite Godzilla suit (1968)
So, this new deal between NECA and Toho means we might get a Hedorah figure one day? If so, my girlfriend's gonna flip, as the ol' Smog Monster is her favorite.
In fact, it looks really god damn nice.
