A new stylized Designer Series Figure is coming from Mezco Toyz. they have opened up pre-orders for their Halloween (1978) – Michael Myers Designer Series Figure. This 6″ tall figure features an ultra stylized design based on the original Halloween film. It includes about 10 points of articulation, a swap out right hand, a butcher’s knife, and a Jack O’ Lantern. The figure is priced at $29, with a release set for some time between May 2019 and July of 2019. Check out the pre-order link and details below. Michael Myers, based on John Carpenter’s critically acclaimed film, Halloween, joins the Mezco Designer Series!
Michael’s dark eyes peer through his emotionless white mask. The seemingly unstoppable silent stalker is presented in blue coveralls and comes complete with a butcher knife that fits neatly into his right hand, an additional right hand to recreate haunting poses from the film, and a jack-o-lantern that he can hold.
The M.D.S. Michael Myers figure stands approximately 6” tall and features 10 points of articulation. He comes packaged in a collector-friendly window box, perfect for display.

So how does Mezco snag this license but NECA can't or won't?
Maybe Mezco was more agreeable since they're gonna sell their Halloween stuff for a bigger profit so they can afford to spend more, but NECA would almost assuredly sell more Ultimates and 18" figures and Scalers and whatever else than Mezco's 1:12ers... Ahh well, I'm sure there's more to it than I'm thinking of!

It's possible Mezco secured an exclusive license and was willing to give up more than NECA. Mezco's doing a good job, but can't wait to see NECA's work one day (hopefully). As for this figure though...the face looks off, especially the mouth. It looks like he's doing a duckface with his mouth.
