New Star Wars Black Series Archive Figures Revealed

Posted on October 24, 2018 at 7:37 pm by Tony_Bacala under Star Wars Toy News

Hasbro have unveiled several more new Star Wars Black Series Archive figures! Joining other early releases of Pilot Luke, Boba Fett, Bossk and IG-88, we now have Anakin Skywalker (ROTS), Biker Scout and Yoda coming down the line. All are early Star Wars Black Series releases that fetch high prices on the secondary market. The Biker Scout originally came with the bike, and seems to be solo packed here. Yoda and Anakin look to have upgraded digital paint on the heads. These are due in 2019, with another note that the Archive line will only release 7 in 2019 total. Read on to check out the images!

are the re-issues exactly the same??
    is IG-88 still too short?

Those that can benefit from the new face printing will and there are likely other paint improvements where applicable but sculpt and articulation-wise these are just straight reissues.

That Yoda is so much better. The original was not much better painted than the original Kenner one.

Bounty hunters look exactly the same. Never noticed the height with IG-88 but them sumbitches better add ratcheting joints to the ankles.

Good to see re-issue of ones that a lot of collectors maybe missed out on 1st time round.

Wondering that too. The first BS Biker Scout release had some proportion issues and very rubbery plastic. It'd be cool if they fixed that.

Very happy with Hasbro with this re-issues AND the fact the figures (all?) will benefit from the newest technology. That's sign the company listens to its fans.

Boba Fett, Anakin, Luke and Biker Scout will finally join their allies and enemies on my shelves!

I missed the first time and seeing as how these re-issues are looking great, I am not upset that I did. I can't wait to get some of these. They look fantastic.

And that rubbery plastic made for some slightly bow-legged Biker Scouts because Hasbro made the awesome decision to package them sitting on their bikes, which warped their legs. I managed to mostly correct the problem with the hot water trick but still, I shouldn't have to. I have two on my shelf (standing, I sold the bikes), but since Biker Scouts are my favorite Imperial troop type, I might have to trade up if these re-releases have better quality plastic.

BTW, I also have the all-black version of the Biker Scout that was a Target exclusive, and that figure is extra sweet-looking in that color scheme.

From what I've seen, Yoda is still too large and the Biker Scout's blaster is still too small. It would be nice indeed if improvements are made. I really hope that the Luke X-Wing can be found when released.

Two questions just popped in my mind:

    1) Is this version of Boba Fett any different from the previous one?

    2) Why does Hasbro insist on Yoda having a snake around his neck?!? Why not alternate Force hands and/or meditating head instead?

    1. Already answered in this thread. Short answer: basically, no.

    2. Probably an homage to the old Kenner figure.

Yeah, I had that figure when I was, well, younger. Even then I questioned the relevance of Yoda having a pet snake around his neck like WWF's Jake The Snake Roberts...

It would have been great to see Yoda bust out a DDT on some fool in the prequels.

    "Trust not a snake, hmmm?"

I'm glad we're seeing the biker scout re-released as a solo figure. This has always been my favorite trooper design, and army building him without the bike was becoming tough, and expensive.

Wow, that Yoda looks amazing. Way better than the Figuarts one they just revealed.
