In July, catalog scans emerged showcasing a series of new licenses from Storm Collectibles. Included was the logo for the Neo•Geo fighting game Samurai Showdown V: Special. Today they have officially announced the license. No additional details are available at this time.

Storm Collectibles Officially Announces Samurai Showdown V: Special License

Storm is starting to get a little ridiculous with these non-stop licensing announcements. While I love some of the properties they are proposing to take on (Samurai Showdown figures would be especially amazing), I guarantee half of these will never see the light of day.
What's funny is while I see most people like "Do more MK stuff!" or "Don't forget about SF!"
But for me, Fist of the North Star, Golden Axe and Samurai Showdown are far more interesting properties, so I'm just the opposite.
I can empathize with people who feel like that though, I've only been waiting like 8 years for a Kiva Figuarts.
Is this another Hellraiser-thing were they just got this particular license because it was available so they can make figures of characters who never really changed looks throughout the series?
Because doing figures of this specific game while a new one is coming up sounds kinda weird to me.

Jesus christ another license? Well I love Samurai Showdown, I hope they give some crazy blood effects haha.
Agreed... and Basara!
When the new game was announced, I knew that a new license was coming soon after...lol
My only worry is that they are REALLY spreading themselves thin at this point, and that by doing so they stand a good chance of getting some of these properties stuck in licensing hell, preventing others from creating products of their own.
Not a huge fan of this license as I have not played this game since part 2, but I wouldn't say no to a Gen-an or an Earthquake figure. Those designs were just so out there.
I hope Galford is in he initial line up. He was my fav character to use.
I mean they did show off quite a few prototypes and have lots of new figures almost ready for preorder.
Agree that they could really speed up the process, but I'm glad we finally have a good, profitable, 1/12 company out of HK. It's great for the collector scene as more competition enters the fray. Keeps the old guards on their toes.
