Bloodborne: The Old Hunters 1/6 Scale Statue by Gecco
- Highly detailed sculpt
- Very clean paint apps
- Easy to assemble
- New weapons are excellent looking
- Works with Arms Collection
- Great chance to get the statue for those that missed on the previous editions
- Not much new here for those that bought one or both of the prior versions
For the most part, this release of The Old Hunter Statue is very similar to the previous versions. I can say that the quality has in no way diminished here, and Gecco’s craftsmanship is as excellent as ever. The Hunter statue always had a beautifully detailed sculpt with equally nice paint work. The plastic used here can be brittle if not handled properly, however there aren’t a lot of small pieces here, so the chances for any breakages are quite minimal. The main draw with this release, for completionists, are the new weapons, and they are very cool looking additions. The Beasthunter Saif is particularly cool, as the blade can be held a few different ways, and can fold open for a more menacing display.
The previous two releases of the Hunter statue sold out rather quickly on Gecco’s site, and this was a third chance for fans to pick up the statue without offering straight reissues. Unsurprisingly, this version sold out rather quickly from them. Thankfully, it looks like their retail partners are still offering it for those that may want to purchase this release.
The Old Hunter is a great way to get into the line if you missed out on the original releases from 2016. Newcomers should be very pleased with the top quality sculpt and the great paint apps. If you want even more display options, there are new weapons packs coming soon as well, which can be swapped in for the ones included here. Check out some select photos below, and see the full gallery after that.
