OK, Round 2 of our first pass looks at the San Diego Comic Con / Dragonball Tour S.H. Figuarts exclusives is here, Perfect Cell! This is a re-color of the existing mold, this time more accurately representing the Manga colors. All mold and accessories are the same as previously released versions. He comes in a bad ass box, just like Broly and Vegetto featuring neon art based on a toy shot.
The key take away here is the sharp paint. The blue pops off the muted greens, and the grey armor pieces and wings have a metallic sheen to it. All in all it feels quality, more so than the previous two releases in fact. I was least excited about this one when it was announced, but now that he is in hand, I am pleasantly surprised. It’s a sharp release.
Read on to check out over 35 HD images showing off his base poses and comparisons with the older releases. We’ll do the same for Vegetto later tonight and then dig into some fun shots for tomorrow. These are courtesy of Bluefin Brands and Tamashii Nations, and will be available at all Dragonball Tour stops throughout the rest of the year. First one being SDCC in under 2 weeks!

Didn't think I would, but I like the Cell a lot. Possibly the most accurate manga variant in the entire line. The green is a bit too desaturated, though.
Vegito / Vegetto is up!

I will run some artistic style shots starting tomorrow. Will try to have em up by end of day, but it's late so can't say for sure.
Those are some nice exclusives, but seeing that old Cell mold... we really need a new one.
Broly looks fantastic.
Cell, kind of prefer the neon green one, but do like how the blue makes the figure stand out more.
And Vegito is Vegito, though I do appreciate they did this version and like the better separation of colors with the lighter blue belt. Also glad to see it's SSJG Blue form. That one has really grown on me over the standard SSJ one.
Really want more Shodo versions though. Especially Kale, Caulifla(non powered up and powered up), and Kefla(SSJ and non-SSJ). Accidentally got hooked on the shodo versions, so now that's my preferred figure style to collect for Dragonball stuff.
If I make it to one of the tour stops, might pick up cell.
As a side note, I never understood the popularity of Broly. He is a mindless villain with a terrible origin story. What am I missing here?
What is the new one going to improve? The articulation on the old one is great and the sculpt is, too

But for kids at the time of DBZ, it was a neat character to have in toy form because it was someone that could match Goku and be a domineering threat. But from a character standpoint other than him being the "anti-Goku BFG", he really is kind of lame.
But then DBZA turned that lame into something awesome. DBZA really does have a habit of making DBZ even better than it was.

I'm so pleased with the Vegetto. I think exclusives are better when they serve as variants AND expansion packs for the previous figures, and this SSGSS Vegetto is perfect for that.
I can't say I care about ki lighting changes that some people think need to be on the outfits for super saiyan forms, but if you wanted to use this new body with the SS head, it could also be used as a "ki lighting" variant. Then you have the normal head with the dark brown coloring and the normal faces that have different expressions than the normal faces on the first release...very, VERY cool. Endless praise for that. It was cool when they made the Frieza Saga Goku with a new face that worked with the original version and it's even better here. Not much to say about the SSGSS head since it's just a recolor. Actually, come to think of it, it might have been cool if they had added that new clear metallic spray (not sure what it is) that was used on SSG Goku and SS3 Goku.
There's one complaint I have to make, one that might seem contradictory. As I said, I think exclusives are great when they are compatible with the originals. It looks like this SSGSS Vegetto has the same skin tone as the original version, and that's a good thing. It could have had a dark pink skin tone and I would have hated that. The problem is, the colored plastic parts on both Vegettos have a little bit of red bias in the color (look at the colored plastic neck and the painted trapezoids, you can see the difference - the painted portion has an accurate yellow bias and the colored plastic has a red bias). I was kind of hoping the exclusive would have solved this problem.
One more thing I forgot to add, I wish those Vegetto boots had been used as the standard parts for all saiyan armor figures. They are so great compared to the clunky cones that the 2.0 Vegeta figures have. Also, the grey plastic at the bottom is a nice touch.
OK, fancy pants joints are up:

Will these be obtainable online? Officially?
