Half-Life 2 Gordon Freeman and Portal 2 Chell Figures Being Reissued

Aww, I already have both!
Totally unexpected! I already have both figures, but we'll see if there are any improvements in terms of paint apps with the new releases...they could be better than the originals, like the Ultimate Part 4 Jason was, or worse, like the Ultimate Part 3 Jason was. But either way I'll probably pick them both up again just to get my hands on more cheap headcrabs and portal guns...

Hopefully the re-release of Gordon will be successful enough that NECA will consider making a proper Headcrab Zombie figure...until then, I'll have to settle for my own custom figure:
So much nostalgia seeing these.
I had no idea these existed, I'm going to get both. I miss Portal.

Although you were part-right...the head underneath the Headcrab IS from a NECA RE zombie figure...it plugged perfectly into the Heroes figure's neck hole with only minimal modding required.
And a few extra shots for your viewing pleasure...
Yeah, that's even better then.
I somewhat recently picked up Neca's Atlas and P-Body, and was looking for a Chell for a bit, but gave up hope due to the aftermarket prices.
I left them in package due to all the small pipes and wires, but wanted to open Chell if I got her, now I will be able to do that! Also I wonder if they will be packaged in the blister packs or in the newer window box package that most of their Player select lines come in?
Probably going to pass on Freeman. Again.
I used to be a huge Half-Life fan and even though I couldn't care less about the games at this point, I'd kinda want a Gordon figure. That said, I still think the face is awfully generic, he is so damn chunky for some reason, and the suit all but lacks the signature "collar". NECA sure took a lot of liberties on this one, which is a shame.
FYI, the pics they are using for the promos are from 2013. I'm guessing paint won't be 100% the same.
Didn't they switch from painting the arms to using the translucent resin when they re-released the Aliens Marines?
I hope they go that route with these as well. I just feel like my Rocky Figures look like real people and a huge part of that is the lack of paint I think. The resin they use for skin is top-notch!
I'd be down with that as well. Plus, like with the Colonial Marine re-releases, it would make it much easier to tell the different releases apart, and those who own the originals will still have unique figures in a sense.
Hey Neca while you're at it how about re-releasing the Dead Space figures? Aftermarket prices are crazy on those and I need Isaac and some xeno's for my shelf!
The light-up DS1 Isaac is such a rad figure. I managed to snag the one that came with the cool-ass buzzsaw weapon for a decent price.
Gonna have to add miniature potato to the shopping list with Chell...

There's something about Gordon Freeman that reminds me of those games where you could use a cheat to play as one of the game's programmers, or where they'd use the faces of the staffmembers/programmers for generic enemies or corpses(like in Goldeneye and Mortal Kombat).
NECA's figure is based on Gordon's Half-Life 2 look, and it's very accurate. I don't see what the problem is.

The figure just seems kind of phoned in, as if NECA just wanted to make a famous character they did not care about while they had a deal with Valve. Or maybe it was something Valve wanted them to make.
Okay, I see now what you're talking about with the collar/neck padding - it might have been changed slightly due to articulation issues - but otherwise I think the figure looks great and certainly not "phoned in." It's clearly recognizable as Gordon Freeman, so I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
