Continuing one of my favorite series of figures, the new Ash vs Evil Dead Series 2 figures have been released by NECA Toys. Today we’re sharing a massive photo gallery and review of the figures. In Ash vs Evil Dead Series 1, fans were treated to two excellent new versions of Ash Williams, as well as a great looking Deadite in Eligos. That was soon followed with a 3-pack featuring Ash and two Demon Spawn children. For the second series of figures, NECA released three new figures based on Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2. The releases include a new version of Ash Williams in his asylum attire, an adult version of the Demon Spawn, and a classic Evil Dead character in Deadite Henrietta, who made a surprise appearance in season 2 of the show.
Toyark sponsor Entertainment Earth sent along the figures for us to check out. After the jump, you can read my thoughts on the new releases, as well as view over 90 hi-res photos.

Overall
Like series 1, the new Ash vs Evil Dead figures come packaged in nice collector friendly window boxes. Each box features character specific imagery, and photos of the figures. The figures are packed on plastic trays, held in by a few twist ties. Ash includes two interchangeable head sculpts and a shotgun. Henrietta includes two interchangeable head sculpts and a figure stand. The Demon Spawn include three interchangeable head sculpts.
Series 2 represents another excellent assortment of Evil Dead related figures. NECA seems to have found just the right people to work on this line, as just about every release in the Ash vs Evil Dead series has been some of the best figures they have released. From overall sculpting, to Ash’s likenesses, to paint work, Series 2 turned out to be ab impressive set of figures. I was also pleased to not run into any quality control issues. Joints were tight and were free of paint locking issues. Parts were easy to swap out, and the paint decos were clean and sharp.
Ash Williams is presented in his Asylum attire from the later part of Season 2. The figure includes two head sculpts. One has a stern look from when he was acting brainwashed by Baal, while the other has the sly smirk that let Kelly and Pablo know he was ok. Ash has a chainsaw hand here, a shotgun, and a back holster to hold the gun. The sculpt work, as mentioned above, is spot on here. The head sculpts have really good likenesses to Bruce Campbell, and the asylum outfit is packed with details. Articulation is good here, with double jointed elbows and a good range of motion throughout. Really, the only thing missing is a scaled Ashy Slashy, which would have really been a perfect addition.
The Adult Demon Spawn looks appropriately creepy and nasty. The figure has a tall, slender body sculpt that is packed with articulation. double jointed knees and elbows, ab crunch, and excellent range of motion. The three head sculpts included are all welcome additions. I was happy they threw them all into one box, instead of making three variants for fans to track down. Sculpting is good here, especially when it comes to the head sculpts. The expressions are great on all three. The body has nice intricate detail work, such as scratches and cuts all over. The gross looking black paint only enhances the creepy look of these guys.
Henrietta features an amazing sculpt from head to toe. She looks just disgustingly gruesome, with large gaping wounds, bloody cuts and a slimy clear coat sheen to her. This version is based on Henrietta from the end of Season 2, as opposed to the character seen in the original films. NECA did a nice job in sculpting the new parts to reflect the slightly different look of the TV series version. However, she can work for a classic Evil Dead display as well. Articulation is good, but the figure is a big bulky mess of a corpse, so range of motion is a bit limited in spots, but nothing that prevents the figure from being fun to mess with. You can swap out the standard head sculpt for the long neck Deadite head sculpt. You can detach the head sculpt from the longer neck to re-enact her death scene from the show.
As you can tell, I really enjoyed reviewing this assortment. These are three very solid releases from NECA. This series is begging to be expanded with additional characters, like Kelly, Pablo, and Ruby. Hopefully, if the toy line continues, we’ll see those characters eventually.
