Marvel Legends Spider-Man Noir Photo Shoot

Posted on March 25, 2018 at 10:34 pm by DESTRO under Marvel Toy News, Random Photo Shoot

With great power, there must also come great responsibility, and when those in power abuse it, it’s the people’s responsibility to remove them. The year is 1933, and New York City is not-so-secretly run by corrupt politicians, crooked cops, big businesses…and suave gangland bosses like New York’s worst, the Goblin. But when a fateful spider-bite gives the young rabble-rouser Peter Parker the power to fight the mobster who killed his Uncle Ben, will even that be enough?

Marvel Legends Spider-Man Noir

Pros
Cool design
Awesome Comic

Cons
No Current Plans for a Special Edition with all the cool extra gear.

Overall
Spider-Man Noir is a long overdue version of Spider-Man that I particularly enjoy. If your a Spider-Man fan and have not had a chance to check this story out add it to your read list. Awesome figure that no Spider-Man collector will turn down. Now give me the SDCC Ultra Collectors box set version.

If you wondering what that awesome thing is in the background you can get the full info here on the Nova Ubiquitous UB-01LS Modular Diorama with Lights. Not a bad word can be said about this awesome system.

Did he ever use a pair of ray-guns in the comics? Lack of time appropriate weapons should be a "con".

To my knowledge he only ever used weapons of his time in the comics, I believe I read somewhere that a cartoon had him using sci-fi guns.

Lol your two posts in almost a year are a insult to Destro. If you don’t like his reviews (which I do) then why are you even here LOL it seems like a total waste of your time. To be fair writing this is a waste of my time as well lol

The dude puts out the laziest reviews on the site. At least other reviewers on here will go into detail regarding the actual figure.

That's fine, sometimes I go into much more detail depending on the character. I'm not a massive Spider-Man fan. I have my favorite runs, but this is not on my wow list.

And your also right, I am surrounded by two of the best action figure photographers on the web. Still I enjoy the photo shoots.

Funny I don't see any reviews here that you've done. Instead I only found 3 posts of you being an ass. If these are so "lazy" then surely you could do better yeah?

I’ve always thought of this guy as a direct ancestor (from a design perspective) to Todd McFarlane’s Al Simmons/Spawn character.

Difference between critique and jab... learn it.

Other than that one time when Destro didn't consider smeared/way off-centered digital paint apps and other issues on the Netflix Marvel Legends wave as "cons," I think his reviews are totally fine. I really only need a few burbs of text and a bunch of photos anyway. Don't get me wrong, I love the info and artistry that Joe and Tony bring to their reviews - those fucking things are practically art exhibits - but Destro gets the job done in a very solid, workmanlike manner.

If that's the case it's likely that "Omega" is the alter-ego of another poster who switches accounts when he wants to anonymously/cowardly bash Destro.

Still prefer GenomPool. Venomverse got me wishing that was a regular comic with giving her an as insane companion.

I love this Gwenpool figure. I actually got two so I could take advantage of all the display options the different accessories offer. Bummer she doesn't come with guns but one that goes well with her is that white auto-shotgun that came with Walgreens Punisher.

Still heartbroken Marvel cancelled her series.

I honestly think the "let's make everyone into Gwen Stacy!" was a really, really lame gimmick. Hell, the only reason I think Spider Gwen caught on so much and was so popular was her costume was cool.

Technically it wasn't cancelled, it ended when it was intended to end, but I agree it was a shame (I've not finished the full run yet but I love it). Hopefully we get a new Gwenpool ongoing before too long.

    Gwenpool isn't Gwen Stacey.

Didn't Spider-Gwen and Gwenpool both start as a couple of variant covers that got turned into regular ongoings just because they got super popular?

I believe that is correct. I think it was due to Gwen Stacy's surge in popularity from the Amazing Spider-Man movie, it started not much different than the usual variant cover collection but those two just hooked enough people that they were fleshed out into complete ideas. I could be wrong.

No, Gwenpool was absolutely 100% cancelled. Marvel just gave the comic two issues to wrap up their story arc instead of killing it outright. The writer of the series publicly commented on it and everything: Marvel Cancelling 'Gwenpool'

This is correct. She's Gwen Poole.
