S.H. Figuarts Street Fighter figures continue this month with the release of Shin Gouki aka Akuma! One of Street Fighter’s most recognizable characters, the Master of the Fist comes equipped with an energy blast, prayer beads and menacing faces galore. SHF articulation is present allowing for great range and posing to match most moves from the game. He’s a superb compliment to the previously released Ryu and together on a shelf they represent the franchise perfectly. We’ve done up over 55 HD shots showing his moves off so read on to check them all out! He’s out now in Japan and should be hitting State side soon!
S.H. Figuarts Street Fighter Gouki / Akuma
Solid. I really dig the S.H. Figuarts versions of these guys even though Storm is also killing it. These are a little smaller and less bulky than the Storm ones so they allow for a wider range of motion and posing, especially in the lower half. Plastic quality is good, a dulling on everything reduces glare on the raw plastic. Mixed with the rich darker paint on the hair and tones on the gi, it’s a sharp overall set of colors. The fireball accessory is also cool, it’s a recolor of the one that came with Ryu. Printed backdrops are ok, pulling right from the game, but are split in two and just the size of the box. Good for close up camera shots or singular shelf displays. Extra hands and faces are welcome additions to allow you to customize based on the pose / fight scene. The only negative I had with the figure was with the arms. Because they are meant for extreme posing, the elbows and shoulders have some give to them, and if you “over-pose” they can slip out of their peg holes easily. A quick pop in fixes this though.
Bottom line, it’s a sharp Akuma. If you don’t dig the SFV look and prefer a more classic style version, this will work perfectly for you. He’s out now in Japan with the Gokui wording on the box, and will be released in the States with Akuma lettering soon. Same figure though.
Check some key shots below, full set after that!
