    Sigh.

You know, I invested some big money into the DC Icons line. It looks freaking amazing on my display. I loved the care they put into the different sculpts and the wide variety of accessories.

This Essentials line is not that. Not at all.

I will consider the Doomsday Clock and Superman figures, however - at least they have more unique and definitive sculpts, and I could use some Watchmen figures in my collection. I hope there's a way to swap faces for Rorschach in some way.

Oh my wallet is going to be so hurting over this Essential line. Deathstroke looks amazing. I wonder if we will get a black/grey colored Batman variant? I am surprised they went with the blue costume.

Where are the rest of the figures, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern...and Nightwing?

Love the figures, but I would strongly suggest that they give Superman and Batman capes like the ones that NECA gave for both characters in previous releases (i.e. Bale Batman and Reeve Superman)

Man, I ordered the Trinity statue, but I really don't like the direction superman is facing here. Maybe it's a bad angle? Or maybe he's capable of turning (depending how it's set it up)?

Watchmen set for sure. I'll give the new line a try, but still hoping we see a box set of the unreleased Icons line that already had finished figures (Etrigan, Booster, Blue Beetle).

I can't tell if they fixed the gorilla arms on Flash and RF.

Right now, those are the only Essential figures. :-)

I guess after the Expressions packs for Joker and Harley, the Batman Animated Series line is officially done? That's too bad. Was really hoping for Two-Face and Scarecrow.

So what were the reveals DCC did? I can't find anything to say what was actually announced for the first time.

I think it was just the stuff shown in the pre-NYTF announcement. They typically don't have the reveals that other companies do, if any reveals. Most information about what they are doing seems to come from the YouTube reviewers who interview them. I think DCC uses NYTF and SDCC as a chance to show recently announced figures in person.

Oh, have they at least had a panel to talk about the Essentials line? To really be able to sell it to people?

Also, what are Mattel's DC announcements? I can't even find a topic on them.

I don't think every company does a panel. Usually just the larger companies who have several brands.

We usually hear from Mattel near the end of a convention.

He knows that. He's just still trying to prove a point that DCC lost everyone's interest by ending the Icons line.

  16. Dr Kain's Avatar Dr Kain says

    02-18-2018, 03:39 PM

Actually, I didn't know DCC was not doing a panel. However, I have seen little to no coverage at all going on from DCC. How are they supposed to push the Essentials line if they aren't doing anything to advertise it to people? Are they thinking, "Since this is the only line DC collectors are going to get, they will buy it?" Because that worked out so well with Icons.

Have they even bothered to talk about what Flash and RF are going to include? Why did they choose Deathstroke as their first Batman villain when he isn't even a Batman villain?

How are they upping their game from Icons? Why should anyone support the Essentials line?

You won't see coverage for smaller companies like DCC or Neca that is on the same level as Hasbro. What would either of those two companies talk about for an hour? Pixel Dan interviewed Randy Falk from Neca and it took them about 15 minutes (including banter) to go over everything that was on display at the Neca booth. I have yet to see any DCC interviews but it will probably be about the same. They'll talk about statues (one are where DCC shines, according to the internet), Doomsday Clock figures, Essentials, and DCAU. DCC probably meets with reps from Diamond, Amazon, BBTS and the like to give them a personal walk through but they simply don't produce enough to do a big show like Hasbro. Also, some of the guys from the smaller companies seem to remember certain interviewers like Pixel Dan and Shartimusprime and count on them to help get the word out.

Most reviewers interview the guys from DCC but upload their stuff last since it isn't the high demand/priority stuff like Marvel Legends.

It's part of the DC Essentials line which is supposed to be 7 inch scale.

It was announced a while back that the CW line was being canceled with the last figure being either Kid Flash or White Canary. I don't remember which.

    Accessories like these?

It was stated at SDCC that these figures would come with the bare minimum for accessories to help reduce the cost. So that means no cosmic treadmills, energy effects, and extra hands. I'm not sure why Batman doesn't have his batarang this time but Superman, Brainiac, Flash, and Reverse Flash don't even have grip hands to hold accessories.
