Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toys Debut Before Toy Fair

Posted on February 16, 2018 at 9:52 am by Tony_Bacala under Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Toy News, Toy Fair

Ahead of Toy Fair 2018, Playmates have revealed new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys based on the upcoming cartoon reboot of the show featuring an all new look. Included are the core Turtles in multiple size classes, vehicles, playsets and role play. Read on to check out all the details and official product images courtesy of Collider!

Basic:

The Turtles are ready to unleash their powerful new ninja skills against all-new big, bad villains!

The all-new, highly detailed action figures are uniquely sculpted and fully articulated, with heights ranging from 3.25” to 5.0″.

The collection features the four Turtles, as well as new characters Baron Draxum, Meat Sweats and others introduced in the series.

Each figure comes with unique translucent accessories, and is compatible with most of the vehicles and playsets in the line.

Assortment includes: Raphael “The Leader,” Leonardo “The Trickster,” Donatello “The Tech Wiz,” Michelangelo “The Wild Card,” Splinter “The Chill Master,” April “Street Smart Best Friend,” Origami Ninja “Confetti Commandos,” Meat Sweats “The Tenderizer,” Baron Draxum “The Maker of Mutants”

Giant:

Standing between 10.25” and 11” tall with 13 points of articulation, these Turtles are fully equipped and ready for battle.

Each figure comes with their core translucent weapon accessories, ready to unleash a Ninja power beat down!

Assortment includes: Raphael with Tonfas and Throwing Stars; Leonardo with Ōdachi sword and Throwing Stars; Donatello with side kick drone, Shelldon, Tech-Bo Staff and Throwing Stars; Michelangelo with Kusari-Fundo and Throwing Stars

Deluxe:

Each action-posed, deluxe figure stands 5.5” tall, and is ready to take out the baddies with shell kickin’ ninja action.

Set the Ninja in motion, and let go to activate deluxe flipping action! The Turtles let out an aaaaaaaction shout as they flip, and then land their flip with a signature Turtle weapon sound effect!

Assortment includes: Raphael SideFlip Ninja Attack, Leonardo Backflip Ninja Attack, Donatello SideFlip Ninja Attack, Michelangelo Popup Ninja Attack

Vehicles

Hidden throughout New York City are secret doors and tunnels to a hidden city! The Turtles rev up on their new Shell Hog motorcycles for some shell kickin’ Turtle action through New York City, and the realms below the streets, to take out any villains they encounter.

Equipped with spring loaded projectiles, high or low attack seat adjustability, and the ability to connect to each other, the Shell Hogs pack a punch going into battle.

Assortment includes: Leonardo’s Shell Hog with Exclusive Leonardo figure, Michelangelo’s Shell Hog with Exclusive Michelangelo figure

Turtle Tank:

When the Turtles need to get to the action fast, Donatello builds a villain bustin’ Turtle Tank that can navigate through New York City, and the realms below, with all the fire power needed to kick some shell!

The Turtle Tank group vehicle is 2 toys in 1, and can transport from the city to the lair and the hidden city that the Turtles discover.

First, in vehicle mode, the front cab opens and two Turtles can sit inside, driving the brothers into action. Then, Donatello’s removable lab rises up and serves as the mobile command headquarters as the Turtles spy and plan to defeat the baddies below.

Equipped with spring loaded projectiles, the Turtle Tank is compatible with the Shell Hog vehicles and even fires them off when the Turtles need to get to the battle fast.

Compatible with Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles basic action figures (sold separately)

Sewer Lair Playset:

This massive “My Size” Sewer Lair Playset is the biggest TMNT action figure playset ever, standing 43″ tall!

Disappear into the sewer from the NYC street level to discover where Splinter and the Turtles live and train.

There are 4 levels of play to discover, 7 rooms, and 20+ features.

This EPIC deluxe playset is packed with features including: Splinter’s Dojo, Raphael’s Weight Training Room, Leonardo’s Rotating Weapon storage wall, Michelangelo’s arcade, the catapult Basketball hoop, hidden projectile launchers for villain invasions, rotating skateboard ramp, collapsing balcony, and so much more.

Compatible with Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles basic action figures (sold separately)

Role Play:

Trained by their sensei master, Splinter, four mutant ninja turtles are ready to come above ground and channel their powers with their new weapons. Now you can collect all of the Ninja roleplay weapons in the Turtles arsenal and channel their powers.

Grab your own Ōdachi, Tonfas, Tech-Bo Staff or Kusari-fundo and get ready for battle.

Each Ninja weapon comes with a signature Turtle mask, and a newly designed throwing star. Time for mutant mayhem!

Assortment includes: Raphael’s Tonfas w/mask and throwing star, Leonardo’s Ōdachi Sword w/mask and throwing star, Donatello’s Tech-Bo Staff w/mask and throwing star, Michelangelo’s Kusari-fundo w/mask and throwing star

so Ralph gets tonfas instead of Sais.

Leo got 1 sword instead of 2.

Mikey got...balls on chains instead of nunchuks?

But Donnie keeps his stick because sticks are cool?

This is from the new show's description: "Raphael, as the oldest and biggest brother, he is the leader full of enthusiasm and bravado; Leonardo, the self-professed ‘coolest’ brother possesses irreverent charm and a rebel heart; Donatello, a mechanical genius and tech wizard whose ninja skills are second only to his coding; and Michelangelo, the youngest brother, a skateboarder and artist who is wild and imaginative."

    WHY?!?!??!??!?!???!?!????!?!??!??!?!??!

I know a lot of people like the last Nick incarnation, both the show and toys, but for me 2003 is the last good line of everything. And every year since then just gets worse. Thankfully Neca has the 1/4 figures going on, so that's something.

I guess every generation must have its Next Mutation. The writing on this show will have to be amazing or taps into some kind of humor that little kids just "get" because these figures look awful.

Michael Bay designs starting to look like masterpieces now, don't they? I like to give this show a chance but I have this horrible, horrible feeling about this.

Ralph used tonfas in The Next Mutation too, so I'm guessing this show is a prequel to that.

Normally I try to keep an open mind about new lines until we see them in hand. But these...after how great the turtles were in the last series, this just looks like a train wreck. Here is hoping for a short run and then a return to something resembling the original concept.

I had not thought of this, but good point. And with Transformers rolling out(no pun intended) so many good figures IMO, a little break to the budget is a good thing...

That Meat Sweats villain(?) looks cool, but everything else is just... Yikes... I've never been into Turtles and I know it's not geared towards me but I truly wonder if the designers and animators workshop with kids anymore, you would hope the kids would say those are bad designs but maybe they don't care as long as they're turtles with bandannas and weapons?

First he is the Red M&M, now Splinter. When did Danny DeVito become popular again?

    Woof.

Good luck with that. My parents were pretty poor, but even growing up I was a kid with discerning tastes. This aesthetic for an action cartoon would be a tough sell for me, yeah.
Some of the jankiest stuff passes muster these days, though. So who knows.

    Twice.

Well it’s 100% confirmed...this show is just for kids. These toys remind me of what you would get in a Happy Meal. I thought maybe the ninja would be a foot soldier, but nope. There are way too many changes going on in the new show. I wouldn’t be surprised if they change the origins. No sign of Shredder, Krang, or any ooze. Maybe magic turns them into turtles. This looks so bad, I mean it’s a combination of Next Mutation and Michael Bay designs. What moron thought this up? The toys look like I figured, Ben 10/TMNT.
At least I had no hopes anyway. I’m only buying NECA TMNT these days anyway.

Okay, I’ve really liked just about every iteration of the turtles, but these look awful. And the toys look like they’re made out of play-doh.
