Posted on February 8, 2018 at 7:47 am by Joe Moore under Marvel Toy News

Square Enix has revealed their next Marvel Universe figure. Pre-orders have begun to pop up for a Play Arts Variant Cyclops Figure. The figure will stand about 10.7″ tall. Cyclops will include interchangeable face parts, multiple interchangeable hands, an optic blast effects piece, and a figure stand. Previous Play Arts Marvel Variants include Deadpool, War Machine, Black Panther, Wolverine and more.

According to Hobby Search, the figure is set for release in June. It will carry a suggested retail price of  15,984 (about $145 USD), though they have it slashed to 11,840 Yen (about $107 USD). Read on to check out the new photos.

Another busy design but, I like it. He could almost pass off as a different character altogether.
Not a fan of the price though...I remember when PAK figures were retailing at around $75

That looks great. The movies could get away with that sort of design if they were set a bit further in the future. I'd take a 1/12 version of this but I'm done with PAK unless they do an Arkham City Mr. Freeze.

$100 price point is disappointing, but the figure looks great. Very busy but an interesting look for Cyclops.

I’m beyond excited to see them continue to make variant play arts kai X-Men. I want them to do Storm. Badly.

I dig it except for the huge shoulder piece. That's a bit much.

It's reminiscent of the Age of Apocalypse Cyclops.

I can see that. Not one of my favorite Cyclops designs though.

I am a huge fan of this! It is super busy like everyone has mentioned, but I think it works here. The shoulder pad reminds me of Judge Dredd more than anything else.

I will keep an eye out for this and if it falls in price I will be a buyer, but I don't need an extremely stylized and out of scale figure for $100.

Me neither. I'm just saying I can see where that design comes from.

We need those optic blast effects for Marvel Legends, that's for sure. As for the overall. design, it's not bad, just not my style. I prefer PAK within the Final Fantasy realm.

I know these variants considered by some (incl. me) kitsch etc but sculptwise, dude it's phenomenal. All those details !

Compared to some of the Play Arts Kai Variant figures, though this figure has a fair bit of extraneous detail, I don't feel it's that overdesigned; the important "broad strokes" bits (colors, color layout, large shapes or details, etc.) aren't really overwhelmed by the small details. This is actually a fairly nice reimagining of Cyclops' costume.

Dang it, man.... I told myself I wouldnt get any of PAKs figures because they just dont scale with anything.... Even my 12 inch BP can work with the right ideas... but this would only work with other PAK figures. Yet it looks so cool, so unique and for such an underappreciated character, I may just have to buy this.
