Official Details for the Dead or Alive Kasumi Figma

Posted on January 25, 2018 at 8:53 am by Joe Moore under Video Game Toy News

Good Smile Company has posted the product page for their upcoming Dead or Alive Kasumi Figma. The figure stands just over 5″ tall, includes two interchangeable portraits, interchangeable hands, a sword, and a sheath. Also included is an articulated figure stand. It’s due for Japanese release in July and is priced at 7,222 Yen (about $66 USD). Retailers should begin offering pre-orders today. See the details below.

The legendary figure has been transformed into a figma!

From the popular 3D fighting game “DEAD OR ALIVE” comes a figma of Kasumi! The figma has been designed based on the classic Kasumi C2 ver. 1/6th scale figure!

  • Using the smooth yet posable joints of figma, you can act out a variety of different scenes.
  • A flexible plastic is used for important areas, allowing proportions to be kept without compromising posability.
  • She comes with two face plates: a gentle smiling expression, and an expressionless face similar to the scale figure.
  • Her short sword is included and can be displayed both drawn and sheathed for various poses.
  • A special alternate body part is included allowing you to completely recreate the original pose from the scale figure.
  • An articulated figma stand is included, which allows various poses to be taken.

Specifications

  • Price¥7,222 (Before Tax)
  • Release Date 2018/07
  • Painted ABS & PVC non-scale articulated figure with stand included.
  • Approximately 135mm in height.

Nice- but a little too anime looking for my taste. I've been a DoA since game one, hopefully Storm Collectibles can get a few of these fighters into their line-up (Figuarts doing Streetfighter didn't get in the way of their line- so Figma shouldn't clash on DoA either I hope)

I just hope someone does a Ryu Hayabusa from the series so I can pretend it's just a Ninja Gaiden version.

If this line does well enough to get me a Tina and Bass I would be one happy camper. Plus as Joe pointed out, it would be cool to get an awesome Ninja Gaiden figure, as the Neca Player Select is good but the proportions are a little off.

WOAH!! Super excited about this. I hope they give us Ryu's unmasked DOA2 look over the Ninja Gaiden look (afterall he will just look like any other ninja with his head covered) and Ein or Hayate figure. Jann-Lee too !

So stocked about this, DOA2 is my favorite fighting game ever !!!

I hope someone finally does a classic Ryu Hayabusa from the 8-bit era, not the modern version.

    That would be ideal.

Ohhh Kasumi, Leifang (my personal fav, of the ladies), Tina, and Ayane...I will forever reserve a special place in my heart for Team Ninja and their masterwork, DOA. As an even larger Virtua Fighter fan, circa 95', ahead of the 96' release, I was excited to learn of Ninja's development of a spiritual cousin to my favorite 3d fighter of all time, Virtua Fighter. When Tecmo first licensed Virtua Fighter 2's graphic engine to make DOA, I knew immediately that I'd love the final product. They did not disappoint.

Hands down, one of my very favorite guilty pleasures in gaming...prurient boob-physics and all! But enough talk about the 'sexy.' Where's Zach at??? Man, how much ass did I kick before people finally realized that Zach IS A BEAST!?!? HAAHAHAHA!

There I fixed your typo, lol

Zach was my favorite until I got really into the combo throws. That is why Tina and Bass became my mains, with a side of Ryu for the Izuna Drop

I'm surprised they're doing Kasumi first since it seems like these days she's been knocked down to also-ran.

I really hope they get to mah gurl Lisa.

Well, the only true 'typo' was my spelling his name with a "CH" rather than a "CK!" ...but "Teletubby" works for me also.

Good choices on Tina and Bass. I always respected players who avoided the 'cheese' characters. I prefer single combat, but when I did play tag, I teamed Zach with Bayman or Gen Fu...

She's still the "Ryu" character of the series, and it appears to be based on the same design as the older statue they also have there on display (I'm guessing it's getting a reissue?). Would also explain the slight anime-ish look and why it's the white outfit instead of her default blue one.

Anyway, she's my personal favorite, so this is an instant buy. Now would like to get at least Ayane and Ryu Hayabusa, too.

She gets overlooked these days for merch and crossovers in favor of Marie Rose and Hanako, though. In all stuff since Last Round, she's always announced after those two for things, if at all.

Being based on something older would make sense, though.

Well Marie Rose got that nice statue and she was the main girl for DOAX3 in Japan because, you know, reasons, so it makes sense to focus on her a little bit and give her some merch. But in the greater scheme of the series I still think Kasumi remains #1 for merchandise, which is fine by me.

They also just put out a smaller limited run figure kit of that same statue, so it has something to do with that particular Kasumi design being so popular.

Kind of too anime influenced as opposed to game accuracy. Looks more like the Senran Kagura DLC versions.

Still neat to see more DOA products being made though!

I might have been interested in this as I have been a DOA fan since it's inception, but that overly anime face killed any interest I had in the figure.

Although, with someone daring to brave taking some paints or an airbrush to it...you could probably customize this into a Miko Mido figure... (for those who are old enough to get what I'm saying...) just rid the skirt and add a bow in the hair and you're set.

even though deep inside i completely agree, I probably will end up buying her cause.....DOA. but seriously though, they could have done better in the face dept...... *sigh*
