Marvel Comics Gwenpool MAFEX

Posted on January 23, 2018 at 10:20 am by Joe Moore under Marvel Toy News

Medicom has posted up the product page for an all-new Marvel Comics Gwenpool MAFEX Figure. An obsessive Marvel Comics fan, by the name of Gwendolyn Poole, is sucked into the comic pages she’s always loved. Armed wit the power to manipulate the actual comic she now appears in, she dons a costume and becomes The Unbelievable Gwenpool. Standing 6.3″ tall, the new Gwenpool MAFEX features full articulation and plenty of accessories. The figure includes multiple interchangeable portraits, interchangeable hands, swords, sheaths, a cellphone, two backpacks and more.

The Gwenpool MAFEX is scheduled for release in September. She will be priced at 7,800 Yen (about $70 USD). Read on to check out the new photos.

This one looks cute. Unlike hasbro's one, that looks like she had some kind of venereal disease or something.

This looks like just Gurihuri's art in the Gwenpool comic. MAFEX also graced me with an unmasked head. I'd love to know why Hasbro thought two masked heads would be cool when Gwen is unmasked as much as she's masked.

This figure is more than I thought I'd get, and I hope this heralds more Marvel in the future.

Dang that looks great. I hope this leads to more comic figures. I’d kill for a Fraction Hawkeye.

Wow, this looks AMAZING...it perfectly reflects Gurihiru's art on Gwenpool! I love the masked heads, and the unmasked one is adorable! And we get the penguin AND shark backpacks?? Oh man, this is too good to be true!

BTW, it's a fucking CRIME that Marvel just cancelled their Gwenpool comic. It was brilliant fun with fantastic artwork. Guess you can't count on the taste of modern comic readers.

Yeah, not overjoyed with Hasbro's Gwenpool figure. It's okay, but it doesn't really reflect the comic version that well...it's like they tried to unnecessarily sex her up or something. I mean, lipstick? An alternate head with a tongue sticking out? Eeh.

Have you ever read the comic? That's what she looks like. She's more cute than sexy, however.

Yeah, when this was first announced I knew I'd get one, but they've given us so many customization options that I know I'm going to end up buying two. At least September is far enough away that I can save up.

Sign me up for one of these! I lIke it alot! Lol

I'm impressed thar a Asian company is giving us swords that 'actually' fit inside their own sheaths. I hate it when you get 2 sets and 1 one set is fake. You know what I mean. Looks like thsee are real.

I also hate it when One: 12 makes helmeted characters with different head sculpts one helmet on, & one sculpt helmet off. I thought the line was supposed to do things like clothing accessories. But that's nor here nor there.

Wait... the height is listed as 6.3". That's waaay too tall to fit in with SHF, figma, Marvel Legends, or even Mezco. I'm really hoping that's an error, because this figure looks really cool.

I think that's usually because it'd be incredibly hard to make a head that looks normal-sized with sculpted hair that doesn't look oversized when you try to put a helmet on it, at this scale.

Mafex seems to like 6.3 regardless of how tall the actual figure is. 6.3" might be better to interpret as the scale rather than the actual height.

Regardless. She looks perfect for me. Easy preorder

Ah, good. That makes a lot more sense. Def tempting to get now.

As many said here, this is the perfect representation of Gurihiru's Gwenpool. I've also pre-ordered it. Sure it's 3x as much as the Hasbro one, but in this case, it's worth it. It's not surprising, I guess, for a Japanese company to make a better Anime-inspired character.

Looks like a fun figure! She reminds me of the Revoltech SpiderGwen, except this unmasked head sculpt actually looks good.

The head sculpts on this one are really well done, and the unmasked one is cute. Looks like it came straight out of a Disney movie...

According to the official product page, she's listed at 145 mm, which translates to 5.7 inches. So she might be just about right, scale-wise, for Marvel Legends. EDIT: Though on HLJ, she's listed at 16 cm, which matches the 6.3 inch size mentioned, but most of the other MAFEX figures they have match this height, regardless of the figures' actual heights. So it looks like the 'scale' statement holds.

Regardless, I really want to pick her up, especially since my wife fell in love with the comic, and this is light-years ahead of the ML version (which we're still picking up, regardless). The price tag gives me pause, but I may go in on it anyway.

@TimespliTT: It's an accurate depiction of how the character looks in the comics. She doesn't wear pants because the costume shop where she got her costume from ran out of pink fabric for her legs.

Have to admit, I just recently jumped on Mafex and I was happy with my SS Harleys. But this piece is lovely. So accurate to the comic book. She just looks adorable.

    Preordered.

Gwenpool is out. I just ordered two from HobbyLink Japan, and they're on their way.

BTW, this is a MUCH cheaper route to take than waiting for U.S. sellers to get them in, even with shipping figured in. HobbyLink is currently charging like $65 each, where as BBTS is nearly $100.

They came the other day. The Mafex Gwenpool figures are absolutely SWEET. I love, love, love them!
