Today we are taking a look at the S.H. Figuarts Justice League Batman figure from Bandai Tamashii Nations. Many companies are tackling the 6 Inch scale versions of these guys, and in promo shots S.H. Figuarts are very promising. Their first release here with Batman is close, but does have some issues which we will go over after the break. He’s got the sculpt, paint, articulation, weathering and accessories you’d expect from a higher end import figure. The cape is standard fabric with wired edges style. The only issue – height. However, that may be a manufacturing issue. Let’s dig into that after the break!
S.H. Figuarts Justice League Batman
Overall Thoughts:
OK, so I am torn. It’s really damn good in almost all respects. But, something happened during production that shrunk the guy. Basically the peg in his torso is too small, so his upper body rests too far down. In a basic stance, his top row of abs are covered. There are youtube videos showing how you can actually replace that peg with the one from the Mafex Batman figure and have it be back to normal (see it here and here). When that’s done, it seems to be on point height wise. I don’t have either of the Mafex Batman figures here so I wasn’t able to do it myself. As it is here, he stands significantly below TDK Bale Batman from SHF, and that’s a no no. Christian Bale was 6′ 0″, and Ben Affleck is 6′ 4″. So even if you were just keeping all the “Batmen” then same height, still doesn’t work.
Aside from that (big thing), the figure is great. Paint and sculpt are tight. Has a wash on him to darken up the light blue suit tone. Cape works well, fabric rests easy and the wires on the sides allow for good posing. Articulation has all the higher tier options at every point. No extra faces, but the batarang and grapple gun are well done.
Bottom line – pick up if you don’t mind the smaller size, or you feel like doing the peg swap.

Great, but that torso peg...
those horrible abs, and being shorter than bale batman.. holy inaccurate bull batman
it never fails. when you get a figure and compare it to others it shows its flaws right away. that even happens in pro bodybuilding. that figure looks narrow as hell. dont like it. that bale and rebirth batman are the best ones in that line up in the picture. just saw the quick fix with the peg, thats a production issue, not good.
Sidenote:: Affleck is 6'4"? he doesnt look it
Yeeesh it looks like his torso caved in. Looks solid after swapping in the longer peg though.
Wow, that simple fix makes a hell of a difference. He goes from looking trollish in that lineup to looking normal in the video comparisons.
I think figuarts tien has the same issue. For such a great figure it's annoying having to constantly adjust to make it look right
How is the scale with the Mattel Multiverse Justice League movie figures?
I dont know why,
But the division responsible for the production of this line is doing a horrible job, last time Figuarts gave us a great QC was Sentai and Starwars, this Batman however looks like something you would pick out of the shelf in Walmart what a disgrace.
Sidenote:: Affleck is 6'4"? he doesnt look it
Aside from that, this figure is boring as hell. I liked the design of the BVS suit so much better. The only Batfleck I actually liked were the Mezco and Mafex versions. The rest seem to be very flawed.
And this is why NECA makes the best DC action figures. Take note, WB/DC
