A new Kickstarter is live for a new series of “blank” action figures. The Super Articulated Blanks 1/12 Scale Figures will be pure base figures with no designs or accessories, giving customizers a nice base figure to start with. The campaign is being run by Cryptid Toys. You may remember them from their first Kickstarter for their Army Alphas, which ultimately was cancelled. They are starting with a 6″ scale Skeleton, but base male and female body types can be unlocked once stretch goals are met. The project needs to reach $30,000 for the Skeleton to be funded. See details below and check out the Kickstarter Page for more.
The time has finally come for 1:12 (6 inch) Super Articulated Blanks! Super Articulated Blanks will be great for customizers in need of base figures, artists looking for drawing models, or collectors who just want to add some more figures to their collections.
Each action figure has all the necessary points of articulation that collectors have come to expect in addition to interchangeable parts. These figures are in scale with Marvel Legends, DC Multiverse, DC Universe Classics, Mezco’s One:12 Collective, and many other collector lines.
The Skeleton is the first figure offered and will be available in Bone, Grey, and Black. Each Skeleton currently comes with an extra set of gripping hands. Stretch goals for different colors and additional parts to be included with each figure at no extra cost will be unlocked should the funding goal meet the indicated amounts.
Brand new Male and Female blanks will be unlocked if the funding level reaches those stretch goal amounts as well!
Figures will be packaged on a blister card.
Everything should be ready to ship to backers in July of 2018.
Shipping:
- Each backer will pay a flat rate shipping cost depending on where they live.
- Shipping within the US is $10 for your entire order.
- Shipping to Canada is $15 for your entire order.
- Shipping to the rest of the world is $18 for your entire order.
Super Articulated Blanks 6-Inch Scale Figure - Kickstarter

oh yes, this is awesome. 6" plain & skeleton figures. buying this for sure if it comes out. they even have a homemade silver surfer
Ok, yes I could see myself use these for customizing HOWEVER, they should package them in the same baggy style that BFS does their blanks. Why spend money on a blister and card for an item that’s all in all generic, a blank that will be opened and used for customs. Putting them on a card is an unneeded expense they could use toward other items for us, or to keep costs down so more backers would jump on.
$32 (figure plus shipping) for a skeleton? No thanks.
Going for the 10 skele tier in the very least. $230 for a literal army of 1:12 skeletons is a pretty sweet deal considering the next best alternative is revoltech skeleton warriors at ~$50 a pop, not to mention slightly smaller for ML/western 6" scale.
Actually really interested in the female buck. Probably won't get that unlocked, but the proportions look great. Very DCUC, less ML.
Pass. I miss the little green army men.
I'm interested, either gonna go in for 1 or 3.

$10 is a flat rate...if you buy multiple figures it's still going to be $10 to ship.
This is just my opinion... I think starting with the skeleton is a mistake. And a $20+ one at that. How many custom skeleton figures can you come up with exactly? Should be a two pack of each body. Maybe female figure bodies as stretch goal?
Apparently the forum won't let me post "wordy" messages, so I'll post the essential bits from the topic over on Figure Realm:
What improvements, if any, were made to these figures that make them a better choice for customizing than Marvel Legends? I don't know because there's no elaboration about this stuff on the page.
I'm happy to see people attempting to make a line of figures like this happen, but holy crap, you have to give us an incentive to buy them other than "hey, here's some more overpriced human-figure-shaped crap to buy."
Yes, I understand making small production runs is expensive. Yes, I'm sure there are many other expenses to consider, like forking over half your earnings to Kickstarter and the Government. I'm afraid there's simply no way to make affordable articulated figures nowadays.
I will reiterate, because I have only good will for the folks who are running this project: I like the idea of what you're doing, but I don't see the point in doing it when there are no advantages over the vastly cheaper, equally serviceable, and readily available figures out right now.
Wanted to BUMP this to the top for those who were interested in joining in. The kickstarter is fully funded and backers are in the process of unlocking stretch goals. Gonna have to move quick, only have hours to go!
148% funded. Only one more skeleton stretch goal to unlock (glow-in-dark), then we move onto the male blanks.
This is very exciting. Pledged for 15 right now... thinking about upping to 20.
Still a little more than a day to go. As I said.
Army Alphas are back with new Swat/Military 6" figures
