I prefer blister cards, so I like this Vintage packaging, which they've done before. I just wish they'd continue packing the 6" figures this way, most of their 3.75" figures I don't like at all. Or, go back to the Black/orange boxes from the first wave, the black/red boxes they use now are just super boring and shitty. I realize most people don't care about packaging but I usually get doubles, one to open and one to keep carded on display. Black Series packaging while collector friendly, is ugly shit and I'd rather they keep doing this vintage style blister cards.

I'm not gonna restart collecting this line, but I might get Rey and that's it. I hate how much I love the vintage cardbacks haha.

I might get the pack with the two BB droids. Still need a BB-8, since I wasn't willing to grab two figures I would never want with TFA line. This one I can use if I don't like her.

If only Hasbro decided that the degree to which their sandtrooper helmet is superior to the stormtrooper one was worth creating a Frankenstein mold. I still don't know why they went with a different helmet for their standard troopers.

On the one hand, while I agree completely about the look of blister cards and vintage packaging, I would much much rather have an opening figure box and be able to put it away again, than have to buy two and have one to display, or buy one and have to destroy the packaging to display it. Partly because I (like most people I would guess) just don't have the money to buy doubles of everything, and partly because for most places outside the US we have even poorer distribution, and pay more per figure. Plus figures are almost never discounted, and when they are discounted it's to prices that most US buyers would be 'full' price (no $10 figures for us - nothing less than $25!) So while I feel you on the looks of the packing, until Hasbro start making opening display boxes I can't get behind the vintage style cards being used constantly. It wouldn't actually make much of a cost difference to do it, but they never do.

Yeah..... Something to get excited about! After that HORROR show that was the Marvel panel.

So much 3.75" goodness. The Vinny line looks great and will please SO many fans around the world. As a Star Wars 3.75 5 poa collector (the only one on ToyArk) I am super excited!!! Wow, that Emporer! After episode 7,8&9 I may go back do the OT with these guys. I know articulation is a issue, but those sculpted robes are the best I have ever seen in a Star Wars figure. I prefer reducing articulation to using zero soft goods. (I can feel your anger flowing through you)

New Luke, traitor Rose with BB-9e, Leia, the new guy in a trench coat, I will be buying them all.

Also MU fan, I have three BB-8's if you pm me your address I would be MORE than happy to send you one. Honestly, I don't mind at all.

EDIT:just noticed the flying Artoo figure. Guess now I will be buying the gold armed Threepio I had previously told myself that I was not going to buy. Confirmed, I will start an episode 8 shelf. Guess I will have to army build the new new Stormtroopers now. And again for episode 9.

The dewback and hover tank look great. Glad to see Hasbro trying to breath more life into these lines. Now if we could just get a BS 6" scale AT-ST, I'd be a very happy camper!

SW toylines went down the drain since the new movies. I remember when we used to get toys of every little background character -- because more often than not, they had far better designs than the main characters... Nowadays, nothing.

I get what you are saying, but would you really rather see a Willrow Hood figure over a Kylo?

Before the new movies the Star Wars lines were getting ridiculous. At least there is something to look forward too.

Haha you do realize that they actually gave us a character who didn't even appear in the movie for The Force Awakens! How's that for background?

Also there were three years between films, no cartoon line and very little competition in the toy aisle. Toys ruled then and apps aren't even a thing. Apple's and oranges. Lastly, the figures were cheaper to make and buy so who cared...make every one. Now, things are costly and space is tight. With a film every Christmas they have barely had time to cover the mains yet alone the backgrounds. Also, today's collectors are more savvy and not into buying the obscure I think, as the obscure peg warm for ages. Food for thought.

That's not really a fair question, since Kylo Ren was basically the only character in that whole damn movie with an even halfway-interesting visual design. It's more like "would you rather see a Willrow Hood figure over a Constable Zuvio?"

Kylo Ren is still wearing black. I think with Snoke they wanted him to look a little less like Palpatine and every other Sith character, that doesn't change the fact that this toy is sporting a bath robe like he wants to be a Bond villain (except that Bond is already a Stormtrooper).

3.75" Vintage Collection stuff looks great, return to form for Hasbro. Can't wait to see how the Assault Tank looks completed! I'm going to be really happy to see the return of classic card backs, those ugly/crappy boxes Hasbro have been using are a waste of cardboard. Too bad they'll still be using them on the "6 stuff. Never got the whole "resealable package" thing, seems like a nightmare for storage. I can't imagine how much space the boxes for the 6" figures would take up if you kept them all. Easier to put each figure in a sandwich bag, wrap it with another, and then put them in a tote, WAY more space friendly!

Also for anyone interested a picture of Snoke from the movie was released a couple of days ago, and that robe is WAY off, It's more black looking with a gold sheen to it. I wonder if Hasbro based the figure on older concept art, or if they just dropped the ball. I'd post the picture, but I have no idea how, so just go to Yakface if your interested.

I can't help but wonder if Hasbro is going to "relaunch" the Black Series at some point under a new name. Ever since they've announced that the new face printing technology is coming to Star Wars figures next year, I can't help but kinda hate the way the painted human faces look. I wouldn't be able to resist buying new versions of Luke, Han, and Leia if they actually looked like they were supposed to. When we start getting the new "face printed" figures that look human like/accurate, the old painted face figures are gonna look SOOO out of place.
