Scream Factory Reveals Silent Night, Deadly Night Blu-Ray Set with NECA Figure

Now this is an unexpected figure release. Scream Factory has revealed a new Silent Night, Deadly Night Blu-Ray Collector’s Edition Set. This set will include a Billy/Killer Santa 8″ Mego Style Figure by NECA. The figure will only be available as part of the deluxe box set. The 1984 film is a pure cult classic that follows a young boy, abused in an orphanage, who becomes a crazed killer while working as a toy store Santa Claus. **SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT Details, Artwork Reveal + Limited Site-Exclusive NECA Figure Offer**

The controversial ho-ho-horror cult classic is scheduled for new upgrade release before the holidays and we have lots of exciting information on it to share with you today!

• Official street date for the 2-Disc Blu-ray release is December 5th, 2017 for U.S. and Canada territories (Region A).

• It will be branded as a “Collector’s Edition” that will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date)

• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes to us from artist Joel Robinson (Misery, Black Christmas). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will showcase the iconic original theatrical poster art design.

• Our plan is to do a new 4K scan from the original camera negative and include both the original theatrical version of the film (for the first time on any home entertainment format) along with the unrated version of the film. Regarding the unrated version specifically: We are still in the process of transferring the film elements and cannot confirm as of today whether the additional scenes will be of the same picture and audio quality as the rest of the theatrical version. Will keep you posted naturally on that front.

    I've got to be honest... while I guess this is great for Mego fans this was a bit overhyped. I don't really know what I was expecting when Randy was teasing this item, but it certainly wasn't this offering.

    Even for casual horror fans this is a bit of a tough sell... Oh well great for those who actually want this I guess.

    I think it's cool that it's made, simply because it's a relatively minor horror flick (in the grand scheme of 80's horror flicks). Certainly the least recognizable horror figure they've done in a while. But I'm not really that big a fan of the movie myself. I've seen it a few times and that was good enough for me.

    Remember, people have NECA make things. They aren't always licenses that they pursue, though I can't say for sure if they did pursue it.

    Also, is this a typo on Scream Factories part;

    It says Chucky, and I know they released a Chucky a while back as I own it. I haven't seen this movie, so I can't say for sure, but it looks like a typo.

    Probably yeah. They likely took their copy from the Child's Play release to have the same format and forgot to edit it out.

    That said, as a big horror fan, Silent Night Deadly Night sucked horribly. As a result, I have zero interest in this figure. But hey, for the 5 or 6 fans out there, this is great.

    Okay...completely out of left field on this one...

    I'm now hoping (as this unexpected release gives me a lot of hope) that we'll get a Harry Warden from "My Bloody Valentine", which was a far better film than "Silent Night" that actually had a decent remake as well. I'd settle for either version of him.

    Something like this is likely approached like a store exclusive. NECA isn't depending on sales or their own solicitations for retailers to buy them. With Scream Factory buying all of the units, the onus is on them to move the figure.

    Yeah...again, the existence of a figure like this (or Re-Animator) shoots down Randy's bizarre augments that properties such as The Thing are "too obscure."
