NECA Alien vs Predator Arcade Razor Claws Behind the Scenes

Posted on August 25, 2017 at 2:55 pm by Joe Moore under Aliens and Predator Toy News, Video Game Toy News

A great new preview has been posted by NECA. They shared a look at the painted and unpainted version of the upcoming Alien vs Predator Arcade Razor Claws Alien. This gives fans a nice look at the paint and the mold itself. See below for details on the entire Aliens assortment from the arcade game.

Introducing a new collection inspired by the classic 1994 arcade game that actually predates the movie! The Aliens Assortment includes three Alien adversaries from the game: Razor Claws, Chrysalis and Arachnoid make their action figure debut with paint deco that re-creates the look of the arcade game.

The figures utilize the new super-poseable Ultimate body, with over 30 points of articulation and bendable tail. Approximately 9″ tall. Window box packaging.

So excited for this line. If they release Dutch and Linn as well then I'm devoting a whole shelf to an entire dio based on the game, mark my words. AvP is my favorite beat-em-up ever.

Mine too. I want to know why they've never re-released it on PSN/XBLA or whatever? I know a lot of people (including me) want them to.

I don't actually know the answer to that question, but I'd guess it may have something to do with licensing rights for those films.

Could be any number of reasons. Capcom would need to want to re-release it, then get any licensing in line that's needed from 20th Century Fox and Dark Horse. Capcom doesn't seem to have much interest in their back catalog beyond Mega Man, Street Fighter and the occasional Disney re-release these days.

Prep that shelf 'cause NECA teased a Dutch figure based on that game (a diagram of his bionic arm was posted recently on Twitter)

Oh, thank goodness...at SDCC they displayed the Hunter and Warrior Predators with their weapons swapped, but here they've got it right.

BTW, if the Predators are due to hit in December, when are the Aliens and Dutch and Lynn supposed to be released?

Those are listed as 1st quarter 2019.

Never understood why they call him a hunter predator, aren't ALL predators hunters? That seems to be all they do in the movies, travel to exotic planets to hunt wildlife and natives.

Amok Time just got in all three AvP Preds, as well as the entire Kenner Terminator wave. I'm heading down today or tomorrow and get 'em all (well, except for maybe the color-change T-1000).

Quality control on all of the figures is REALLY high this time around. All paint apps are super-sharp, joints are all tight, no glue slop anywhere, and none of the accessories are packaged in a way that warps or otherwise damages them. And the cell-shaded paint style on the AvP Predators is beautiful in-hand...I'm so glad they went this route as opposed to a more pixelated look. Even the various tubes on the Preds are a more rubbery material this time around which makes them more durable when posing.

Hell, even the Power Arm Terminator can shockingly hold almost any pose well even with the big-ass power arm.

Nice haul! Just about two more months before they hit Canada

It's reassuring NECA's QC is on the right track with these new figures. I was getting worried with all the popped joints and missing parts I read about on Twitter with the Broken Tusk/Machiko wave
