Pre-orders are now live for the upcoming DC Comics Variant Play Arts Kai Harley Quinn Figure coming from Square Enix. They have posted up the product page for the figure, which gives us some new photos and full details on the figure. The figure acts as almost two figures in one, as her oversized mallet can be disassembled to form an armored costume for Harley Quinn. The figure will also include multiple interchangeable hands, a swap out portrait, a gun and more. Harley Quinn is scheduled for release in February 2018. The figure is priced at $249.99. Check out details below and read on for all of the new photos.
Cold-blooded, yet in some ways charming. Harley Quinn, the female villain deeply in love with Batman’s archenemy, the Joker, now appears as a VARIANT PLAY ARTS KAI action figure designed by Tetsuya Nomura!
Her costume takes inspiration from a nurse’s outfit and adds what could be identified as her signature colors, black and red, to the overall white color scheme. This coquettish design expresses her character and personality.
A syringe-shaped weapon and armor appear upon deconstructing her mallet. With these, the figure can transform into an armored combat style in line with the universe of the VARIANT PLAY ARTS KAI Joker. By switching and equipping different parts, the collector gets two figures in one!
Also included with this figure are various other accessories that help showcase the various sides of Harley Quinn.
Figure includes display stand.

These things look more and more like Metal Gear villains every time I see a new one.
I get they're supposed to be Final Fantasy-esque versions but this one and definitely that Joker from not too long ago give off more of a Metal Gear vibe. Especially from the later games in the series. Could be because I've never played a Final Fantasy game and I've played every game in the series since MGS on the PS1 other than Phantom Pain.
They're actually supposed to have a Nomura (kingdom hearts director creator/final fantasy artist /director)like vibe. Also I really want this figure so bad, but the price is what's scaring me away from it, I like the concept, not the price she looks like a Keyblade warrior.
Oh I wasn't sure if he did this one or not. I thought it was just that one Nightmare Batman.
Didn't he do a Catwoman too?
Paul Dini and Bruce Timm must recoil in horror every time a new, messed-up version of Harley comes out.
That harley looks damn sexay!
This I like! Don't like the price tag though, lol
I hate this default nurse look but the armored version is kinda keen.
Cleaned up the thread. I hate this forum.
Play Arts is not for me but the designs are very interesting. It may be because Square Enix is doing them but I'm always surprised at seeing these pop up on social media or at gaming news sites, the designs are definitely appealing even to non-collectors.
