A new licensing team is now in charge of handling assorted licensing for the cult classic 1985 film Re-Animator. According to Licensing.biz, their first deal will be with NECA Toys to produce action figures from the iconic horror film! Here’s a snippet from the release:
First up to the plate is NECA who will now develop a line of collectable figures.
Randy Falk, director of product development for NECA, said: “I have been a longtime fan of Re-Animator and know that there are lots of comedy sci-fi collectors waiting for new Re-Animator figures. It will be a perfect addition to NECA’s line.”
In the movie, Dr. Herbert West has discovered the key to bringing the dead back to life. He enlists the help of his new roommate, medical student Dan Cain, to continue his experiments and perfect his serum. However, Dr. West’s reckless nature, and an imperfect serum lead to disastrous consequences for Dan and those he cares most about.
Details on the deal are scarce at the moment. No word on if these will be their 7″ scale figures or their Mego style 8″ figures. Update: Sounds like they’ll be 8″ Mego retro style cloth figures. With San Diego comic-Con right around the corner, we may know more then.
